With sadness these past 4 years have flown by and this Fall we had a wonderful stay at the Gambier House...Betsy's breakfasts and freshly baked cookies cannot be beat. Her breakfast service is the perfect way to start a busy day.

We wish we had another child enrolling in Kenyon College so that we can stay at this lovely B&B.

It is the BEST location in town with the most welcoming the TV room, lovely living room, kitchen complete with round the clock cookies, coffee, tea, etc., porch, back garden area, and a place for our college student to stop by on her way to and from class.

We were lucky enough to win a room in the Graduation lottery...can hardly wait to get back!
Thank you Betsy for making our stays so comfortable.

With an amazing location on a tree lined street, steps to the Middle Ground Cafe, looking toward the Church of the Holy Spirit on campus - this warm and welcoming B&B can't be beat. The common areas downstairs are very comfortable with great magazines and publications and a kitchen that offers round the clock freshly baked cookies, coffee, tea and cold drinks. Betsy is a fabulous chef who whips up well balanced breakfasts using the freshest ingredients.
Wish we had gone to Kenyon College but visiting our child in Gambier and staying at the Gambier House is a treat!

I like to stay here in the quaint little town of Gambier at Kenyon College. The library room is perfect. Near the front door and close to the kitchen. Has its own bathroom with an awesome walk in tiled shower.

My wife, daughter, and I recently stayed at Gambier House while on a college trip to Ohio, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As another reviewer noted, this is significantly less expensive than the other options in Gambier, but we never felt that we were making any sacrifice. In fact, the Gambier House was the perfect spot for us. It was across the street from Kenyon College (one of the three we were visiting in Ohio), so the location was perfect. The beds were very comfortable, and we had plenty of space in the Green Room.
On top of that, the breakfasts were scrumptious. No, you don't get much of a choice--but then, this isn't a restaurant. Our daughter is a vegetarian (we're omnivores), and this was taken into account with the main courses each day. When we were served sausage to supplement the French toast, our daughter was given a different "extra." The mixed fruit we had on the second and third days of our stay was fine, but the melon that we had on our first day was out of this world--perfectly ripe and sweet. Not to mention unlimited coffee, OJ, etc. Oh--and wonderful muffins.
There were snacks available too: home-made cookies each day, cold cereal if we wanted, even soda in the refrigerator! I'm hoping I didn't gain too much weight.
Yes, there's a dog--a very well-behaved one named Hotspur (what did you expect? Spot?). If you're allergic, that might be a problem.
We found the hospitality to be warm and genuine, and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with the other guests (one of the reasons we like B&Bs).
The only real problem we had was that the lighting in the various rooms was pretty dim. It's an older house, and this might be related to the wiring capability, but it was a small annoyance to me. But it's a small irritation. I don't know if my daughter will choose to apply to Kenyon, or if she'll be accepted should she do so--but I'm tempted to return just enjoy this experience no matter what happens on the college front!

The Gambier House is cozy, charming, very clean, very convenient to Kenyon College--you won't even need your vehicle--and Innkeeper Betsy makes a daily gourmet breakfast. Although it is a bread and breakfast, each room is situated so that guests barely see the other guests. I've stayed at the Kenyon Inn (when it is available, which is almost never since Kenyon College reserves it entirely for its own guests all too frequently), and I have found the Gambier Inn to be much more hospitable and definitely has better breakfasts. I am only sorry we only discovered the Gambier Inn at the end of our son's junior year at Kenyon.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gambier House for only one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. We were absolutely charmed by the house, our room and host Betsy's hospitality. (Don't pass up her waffles!) The house -- inside and out -- was very lovely and a very short walk to the main part of campus as well as restaurants. Our room was large, and the bathroom was gigantic, with a dressing nook and a large soaking tub. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Kenyon College.

The Gambier House is an excellent choice for any traveler (honeymooners included!). The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. Betsy, the innkeeper, is fabulous. She is very accommodating and friendly, but stays out of the way.
I have never liked eggs, but Betsy's breakfast has made me a believer. She leaves delicious cookies in the cookie jar for that late night snack, and makes the place really feel like a home away from home.

This bed and breakfast is wonderful! The hostess is friendly. The breakfast she prepares is fabulous! It's like going back in time to visit Kenyon College and the Gambier House. Great value. I went for business and hope to stay again on future business and pleasure trips.

My husband, our 16-year-old daughter, and I stayed here for one night while visiting Kenyon College. This was the perfect place to stay! Our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed relaxing in the common areas. Betsy was friendly and welcoming and made a delicious breakfast (egg souffles, fruit salad, and blueberry muffins). Best of all was the location -- in the middle of the sweet village and walking distance to everything.

Stayed here while visiting Kenyon College with my daughter. The location was perfect- right across the street from campus. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very fresh (locally sourced by the innkeeper). Liked it so much we stayed here again when we came back, and would stay here on all campus visits (if available- it books fast on high demand weekends!)

"The Drawer Room is amazing but the shower in the bathroom is stifling even for someone who is not claustrophobic. The other room we stayed in had two full size beds and seemed cramped while the Drawer Room seemed bigger - even the bed but the shower in the first room was great. Right down at the end of the hall."

"Old renovated house with stairs to most bedrooms. We stayed in the drawers room which is quirky but fun. Has a full sized bed, so a couple should ask for a room with a larger bed."
