The Habitat, a boutique guesthouse for the Asian Confluence cultural Office in Shillong is centrally located near the bustling Laitmukhra Bazaar. Its surprisingly quiet & peaceful once inside the property. The deluxe rooms are well decorated but slightly small. Loved the decor: wooden and well decorated with artifacts. Vintage beds and Almiras adorn the rooms. For those who love books,...

Simply very good. We stayed here for 3-nights on an official team meeting visit during Jan 2017. Small, yet an excellent property hidden from the crowded market areas of the city. Rooms were excellent, with very decent service. Food was quite good but one needs to place orders well in advance. A little more variety in breakfast menu could be...

Great rooms with wooden flooring. Very Zen like decor especially the garden outside the breakfast area. Adequate breakfast. Very close to the Don Black complex. Wards lake can be reached in 20 minutes walk via Jacobs ladder shortcut. Cafe Shillong with amazing live music on weekends just 100 M away.

This a cozy mini hotel located just behind the main road of Laitumkhrah. Though the approach is a dark and narrow lane, its absolutely safe. Its walking distance from several eating joints like Cafe Shillong, Dejavu etc. The hotel decor is beautiful with a lot of wood work and beautiful paintings of Buddha. They have a lovely little garden which...

Highly recommended if you want stay away from the over crowded Police Bazar area. Good location. Cafe Shillong and other famous eateries are literally at a walking distance. Market is walking distance as well. But wherever you go, please come back by 9 pm (as the hotel is situated in a bylane.) Although we never faced and problem as you...

I along with my husband stayed here during our trip to Shillong. Located in Laitumkrah, it is in a safe locality near the eateries and shops. The guesthouse is tastefully done.. very clean. Rooms are cozy with all the basic amenities. The heater helped a lot during the cold weather. Bathroom is clean too. Breakfast was basic but freshly served....

We stayed at The Habitat, in December 2016, just after Christmas. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a very nice, aesthetic and quiet guest house of the Asian Confluence. This is not a full fledged hotel in the strictest sense of the word, just to manage your expectations. The rooms are cozy, with comfortable beds. There is very little...

Dear PrakashCJ: Thanks a lot for your review. We very much appreciate your feedback. We are in the process of resurfacing our floors which are made with old wood. Unfortunately sometimes all do not understand the value of caring for antique furniture. However it is that which give the Habitat its charm. As regards your concern on the exhaust, kindly...

We spent the Chirstmas eve + a couple of days at Habitat this year. As the other reviewers have pointed out, this is a very clean property tucked away in a one way lane in one corner of the city. However, Police Bazar, the main shopping area is hardly 3 kms from this place. One of the biggest attractions of...

This hotel is rather like a guest house situated in silent one way lane, but still in the middle of the town. It seems that they have converted a big house into what they call a boutique hotel. In their conversion into hotel they have cut corners in which exhaust of one toilet goes into another toilet and from that...

Thanks for your feedback. We do what we do from the heart I am glad you like our smile. Due to construction of additional rooms which is almost over, you may have encountered the problem of the exhaust and other issues raised. I am sure next time you will not have that complaint. Kindly note that we have converted an...

Just returned after 4 nights stay @ The Habitat. I actually booked this hotel post the reviews from Trip advisor, however bit disappointed post my stay. This indeed a small guest house , peacefull location but really have a narrow and ugly approach road. Rooms, well again old enough with antique furniture including a very small TV. Breakfast very homely...
