Cosy and quaint, atop a hill, reached by a winding road. Look out for lovely old bungalows in interesting painted woodwork, as you near Tripura Castle, a heritage hotel. Enjoy the old world charm in the layout of the rooms and public areas. Great to catch up on reading, if time permits, or a drink at the bar and a...

I have stayed in Tripura castle many times! It's a truly royal place and a well maintained property. The view from the my room was just amazing! I prefer to stay in the superior rooms(New Wing) and from here one can actually sit and spend the whole day looking at the beauty of shillong. The breakfast buffet was good. The cafe shillong...

There are two parts to this hotel - the old and the new. We stayed in the old part and the rooms were delightful. They had a bay window looking out onto the garden, with two comfortable chairs. Each evening they lit a fire and it was so cosy. We loved it.

We visited Kaziranga, Shillong & Cherrapunji in same order. I think we were at Shillong on Day 4 of our trip and by that time we had craved for some good food to eat, specially breakfast. We are south Indians and vegetarians and were tired of bread, poori bhaji, aloo paratha for 3-4 continous days till we came to this...

Let me start by clarifying the difference between Royal Heritage- Tripura castle and The Heritage Club Tripura Castle. These are two different properties, run by different managements. We stayed in the latter. The Heritage club is a separate property a little lower than the Royal Heritage. The Heritage club seems to be an erstwhile annexe to the main residence which...

Had a wonderful stay in Tripura castle. Beautiful property. Rooms are spacious, clean, beautiful and provide a breath- taking view. One can spend the whole day by sitting by the window. Food is awesome. It has a club which was very nice with good crowd and nice ambience. The place definitely has a royal touch. Strongly recommended.

Tripura castle is good old heritage style property. However, located bit off-center means impromptu outings are difficult. The good part about the hotel was food. Two things I didnt like much - (i) rooms are average in style and comfort (ii) the heating is not commensurate with room size, leading to very cold nights!
