Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Many people. They also have a bar. The decoration is very Norwegian, all in wood !!! Here you can use your shoes/boots ;-) You can meet with friends even if you are in a different hotel. Excellent time. You can meet the same people you met on your flight.

Hi, thank you for leaving your thoughts here. Kroa restaurant is for sure a great place to hang out and the food is amazing. We at basecamp Hotel are very lucky to have them nextdoor.

A last minute plan to visit svalbard was made extra special by our stay in basecamp hotel. From the thoughtful decor to the genuine warmth of all the staff, we would never consider staying anywhere else in the arctic. I know i keep saying this, but we definitely be back. Scott & Harvey

We stayed here for one night and adored the place. The Basecamp is right in the city center, so the location is very practical, but less exotic than one might expect by the name. Once inside with your shoes off, we discovered how attention was given to every single detail of the decoration. This, combined with the great staff, informal...

Thank you so much for leaving us your comment! Such an honest review, it’s a reason we love our job at the Basecamp hotel, it’s truly a charming place and so much impressions for our guests to absorb. The fact that all our 16 rooms are individually built, one by one, absolutely gives the rooms a special touch.

Our room at Basecamp Hotel was cozy, warm, rustic, and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable. The 24 hours of sunshine was not an issue since it was mostly cloudy and rainy during our overnight stay. The lobby area was large enough for our group to meet. Breakfast was very good and included yogurt, tea, bread, and cheese. Staff were...

This Place got a real trapper cabin feel over it. Very cozy with very individually designed rooms and super friendly staff. I also really like the ecological concept that Basecamp has. Nice breakfast in a very rustic but also cozy diningroom. It is one of the most centrally located places in Longyearbyen and they can help you with any kind...

Dear David, thank you for choosing Basecamp and that you will come back. Our Cognacs Attic is a issue during the sunny summers, we are working with it to find a cooling solution. Thank you for leaving your comment on Trip Advisor, much appreciated.

Fantastic special little hotel full of quirky design. Much thought has gone into this hotel to make it feel different. Very warm and comfortable. Great place to spend the night before our arctic boat trip. Breakfast room very cozy and a good breakfast is served. Have stayed in Longyearbyen before but the hotel we stayed in wasn't a patch on...

Stayed here before and after a Basecamp Explorer dog sledding trip. Hotel is quirky but really comfortable and very fitting for the surroundings. Staff are great and exceptionally helpful. They stored our luggage securely whilst we were away. Great breakfast. It's not cheap but then nothing in Norway is! Would definitely recommend, most of the other hotels in town are...

Great hotel, extremely cozy, comfortable, and accommodating. Centrally located, with a great restaurant (Kroa) sharing the building. The room itself was very cozy and great to come back to at the end of a long, active day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Oh and a great breakfast!

Designed in wood, reminder hide and slate. A shoeless hotel with trappers lodge feel and warm cosy white linen beds, awesome views, great staff and a wonderful, not to be missed atmosphere which is unique. Breakfast is traditional, hotel is linked to Kroa bar and made our stay wonderful!

I have stayed at the Basecamp Hotel three times. Once before in the polar night and now twice under the midnight sun. I can't say enough nice things about the facility and the staff.
