We stayed for two night in the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel: overall it was a good stay, the hotel is very central in Longyearbyen, breakfast has a vast choice, but it is very expensive for what you get..

Overall the hotel was as expected for a remote location with limited options. The most disappointing aspect of the hotel is that most of the Carlson benefits do not seem to apply. Hotel was booked on the Radisson website so had no indication that they were playing by their own rules. Most irritating is the hard line on the 11am...

This is a Radisson in name but in Longyearbyen, Salvard. The location is central and you may walk to the dock with your luggage if you are so inclined to walk. The staff is young and very friendly willing to go out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast is typical with all you can eat and very savory...

Third visit to the area. Usually we have stayed at Svalbard Hotel, but they were booked so stayed here. More of a hotel feel vs the homey feel of Svalbard Hotel. Check in was slow and they needed more help at reception. Spacious ,very quiet, clean rooms. Good shower (always important!). Had dinner in the bar and pizza was very...

Hi DrJackPA, thanks for your review! We're glad to hear that there were a lot of good things with your stay! We'll definitely look into why you couldn't get a late check-out or the option to store your luggage. These are services we usually offer if we have capacity, so we apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused for...

I was here four nights. Needless to say, it was expensive since it's in Norway, and even more so because it's in Svalbard. I was surprised at the basic, and fairly small, room. No minibar, no safe, and little room for storage. And, there is no telephone!! And no tv. Bathtub with shower was nice, but towels were very thin....

The evening buffet incuded seal, reindeer, whale and several smoked fish. I tried them all! One waiter for the whole room so buffet the best chaoiec although...

As said earlier by other reviewers, a hotel in the arctic wilderness can be difficult to compare to other hotels in more ordinary locations. The hotel is built on pillars due to the permafrost -- quite a different building technique. The hotel is very well situated in the small town between the hospital and the university center at the beginning...

This hotel is rather big (at Longyearbyen scale), the rooms are nice (average for a Radisson Blu), with a Nespresso machine (but only one capsule per person). The outside jacuzzi is from far the best part of the wellness area (at least in Summer). The breakfast is good.

This is a comfortable full service hotel in this remote polar environment. Not luxurious, but simple, well decorated, with warm service by all the staff, a good breakfast buffet, and super convenient for everything in Longyearbyen (museum, main street, and start of tours out of town). They are affiliated with Spitsbergen Travel, and can arrange all kinds of activities on...
