I think I would say that our two night stay was a bit quirky ! The hotel is in a lovely elevated position overlooking the coast. There are plenty of benches spread around in the gardens, to enjoy the view outside the hotel. There was limited parking and it was expensive but,we were glad we had reserved. The hotel is...

We have stayed now in four Bay Hotels and this was another good experience. The Golden Lion is a very old building and that has to be accepted as the context of a stay. We opted, this time, for standard plus room which was a good size with sloping ceilings. The bathroom design was ingenious with the toilet just having...

Whenever we visit Hunstanton we always make a point of going to the Golden Lion, however on this occasion we were disappointed to see things were not up to their usual high standard. Upon entering the public bar on Saturday afternoon we were faced with tables covered with dirty plates and glasses that had not been cleared away, we struggled...

We had no complaints, but equally the hotel is nothing to write home about. The bedrooms are old-fashioned, but large and comfortable. The floorboards are very creaky so you will hear every move your neighbours make! There was no lift and some elderly guests were seen struggling to carry luggage upstairs with no help from staff. The table d'hote menu...

Clean, good position overlooking the beach and good staff. Food budget must be on a shoestring. At breakfast the food ran out, even ran out of marmalade. The toaster was broken and the self serve breakfast was awful. Not to be recommended and will not visit there again.

Room was great with a huge bath shower room. On reception was a very young and inexperienced staff member when we arrived (separately) Food at the bar was very good with good service, very accommodating for dogs!

My wife and I visited Hunstanton during the bank holiday weekend and ended up popping into the Golden Lion Hotel as it was less busy than everywhere else. We were greeted by a friendly young lady who got us sorted out with drinks pretty quickly. When we asked if food was still being served, we were told yes, but the...

My wife and I booked a four night break and paid extra for a sea view, we are in our 70's. When we arrived there was no lift and our room was up four flights of stairs and no oxygen was provided. The room was basically a rabbit hutch and it's a good job we didn't take the cat as...

After just reading the recent review I was shocked. I'm not sure when they had lunch so can't comment on their experince but my wife had lovely ploughmans on saturday 15th April which she said was the largest and best ploughmans that she had ever had. I had the tuna sandwich which was very nice, I really enjoyed my pint...
