I recently stayed in Powder mills with a group of friends for one night and I couldn't fault it. It's a beautiful setting where you can stroll around the grounds at ease, take in the countryside and even take a scenic route to the local town. The staff were kind and helpful and were always on hand if needed. The...

Our 3rd visit here, and second overnight stay, this really is a magical place from the moment you sweep down the stunning drive. Rooms are great, food lovely and staff very welcoming. We even attended a Christmas party night in the main hall which was great fun. Make sure the walk around the lake behind the hotel, as this is...

Came here for a 50th birthday and it couldn't have been better. Excellent service, staff really friendly and attentive. We were made to feel really welcome, and so was our dog. Restaurant food really good and they set up a special table for breakfast so our dog could join us. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and...

What a wonderful atmosphere to welcome 2017. From arriving and being greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne to leaving after the last dance. This is my second time spending new year at Powder mills. Meeting familiar faces from last year made me feel like I was at a private party. The food was exceptional with an 8 course menue...

We stayed at this lovely hotel for the NYE gala dinner. The hotel is situated in a beautiful country setting with a long sweeping drive. Although it is a grand looking hotel it still manages to keep a cosy feel, with a lovely log fire to greet you as you enter the reception. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with...

20 adults and 5 children visited this hotel on 4th December for a 90th birthday lunch. At the time we should have started our meal the room/table wasn't ready, the place cards had "gone missing", as had the seating plan. The service of the food was ridiculously slow so that, being a polite group, the food of those served first...

Thank you PowderMills for our 3rd lovely Christmas. Again we enjoyed the food, the accommodation and the friendly service. A wonderful country house hotel in a lovely wooded setting, a very relaxing holiday. Never too crowded and plenty of public areas full of character to sit and enjoy a drink after a meal. We look forward to a future Christmas...

This was the 4th time we have stayed at the Powdermills Hotel and as it was the Christmas package we had booked, we were really looking forward to our 3 night stay. We knew we could not book the suite we usually stayed in so booked the Wellington Suite, also promoted as the honeymoon suite. The room looked nice enough...

Thank you for your review, we are sorry your stay did not live up to previous expectations. The Wellington Suite is in the main house and is a very traditional room with antiques. This suite has proven very popular with our guests and is already booked for next year. On your previous visit you stayed in the more modern Pavilion...

Arrived mid afternoon to our suite and it was freezing cold. There were 3 large radiators but only 1 was hot and the other 2 were tepid. No thermostats on the radiators or covers on the valves so we could not open the valves to increase the heat. The room thermostat implied the temperature was only 10 degrees. Complained at...
