This place is awful. Apart from a friendly welcome and clean bed linen, it was disgusting. The room hadn't been hovered, the surfaces hadn't been wiped down (tea cup stains) and the teaspoon looked as though someone had eaten yoghurt and licked the spoon badly....More

Buses go from Bexhill Rail station (which isn't far from the hotel) to Battle and to Hastings. I think you'll have to change at Hastings for a bus to Rye.
You can also go by train to Rye and to Battle changing at St Leonards
