We ate here with friends after a lovely walk locally, taking in the nearby Bateman's house. The pub is dog friendly which is great. The service and main courses were good and the desserts were divine!

We regularly go to the Rose & Crown which is a great place to meet up with people and to have a meal. The ambiance is very welcoming and the food is very good. The menu is changed regularly so there is always a varied choice. The service is excellent and we and our dog are always made very welcome,...

Had an excellent meal today. Hot, tasty and cooked just right. Staff were very attentive despite the place being busy. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends. The place is old but stylish and warm.

Fabulous traditional British lunchtime fare and real local ales. Good service too. Cosy ambiance and pet friendly. The real ales are fabulous and the food was scrumptious - we had a steak with all the trimmings and a traditional steak and kidney pudding - both delicious. Unfortunately there was no room left for the tempting puddings on offer.

A very friendly welcome by Mireille and all her staff when staying overnight at very short notice on a cold night. Everything was tip-top, the double bedroom was warm and quiet (away from the main road), the pub's beer and atmosphere were excellent, particularly the locals playing fun traditional bar games (shove ha'penny, as one example), and the eggs and...

Visited the Rose and Crown as our normal restaurant we visit was closed for a function and we also needed somewhere that allowed dogs. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming and had a good chat with the proprietor. The menu had a reasonable variety, the only downside was that the staff didn't inform us before ordering that there were...

We stayed here overnight due to heavy rain on a camping trip. It was lovely, great room, great food - all round a lovely little pub. The breakfast was particularly nice. Burwash was lovely too with a nice graveyard that was wonderful for zombie hunting with two crazy children!!!

Nice pub, with a good selection of Harvey's beers and a good pub grub menu. The food was very good and the bar man couldn't have more helpful.....all done with a bit of banter and humour. We had an excellent lunch.

Just the 2 of us So decided to pop out for quick impromptu dinner. Menu was typical pub stuff but large and varied enough to give good choice. We went for scampi and chips and a ribeye steak. Scampi and chips were fine and my Hubbie said his steak was the tastiest he had in a while. All in all...

Had lunch here on Friday with two friends who were on a walk from Punnetts Town to Burwash and back. We decided to meet at Burwash for lunch and picked the Rose and Crown. Good decision! We had a lovely lunch in beautiful surroundings. The staff were helpful, friendly and very welcoming. I'll definitely being trying it again.
