Decor so dated Seedy feel within the whole place. I shall never be returning. Arrived and was disappointed with the room. Went out for dinner and when we returned later In the evening there were men Sutton. Around talking in a darkened room, pretty eerie greeting...

Very small car park as when we arrived they were nearly full of cars we managed to find a free space. The room was clean and fresh but overheated, soon adjusted by opening window and by turning down the thermostat on the radiator. The bathroom is more suitable for small people as the toilet sink etc are very low as is...

My husband and I ate at the Prezzo in The Thatched House Hotel on 11th August 2016. It was almost empty when we arrived a little after 6:00pm and we asked for a table for two. The head waitress, with a strong eastern European accent, said she would see if she could fit us in! They did have two large...

Spent 14th and 15th here for a 2 day work related training course. Stayed in Room 4 which was lovely. From entering the door was greeted with a lovely scent and certainly not food related! Was met at reception warmly, booked in and went to my room for a comfortable night. Hotel is very quiet and the room is very...

What a relief to find a wonderful hotel like The Thatched House Hotel in Epping! With its friendly and efficient staff and the fresh and clean rooms it is a lovely family run hotel. Perfectly situated direct on the High Street with shops, pubs and public transport all at walking distance. I have been staying at this Hotel for several...

I navigated the dodgy stairs and 5 foot tall ceilings to find my way to a smoke filled "common room/reception" where I was promptly fleeced for 55 pounds for a room that a dog would have refused to pee in. To say the room was dirty, unloved and old fashioned is an understatement. I doubt this is much more than...

Never has a web site description been so far from reality. As opposed to the advertised "English Country Hotel" you find a number of rooms above a pizza restaurant. The pervasive smell of smoke hits you upon opening the door but it didn't prepare me for someone smoking at the reception desk or the staff member asleep on the reception...

Best hotel ever stayed at. Spotless. All facilities. Lovely town. Plenty restaurants, pubs 195 club all walking distance. Designer shops for Ladies and men. Great staff, pleasant stay. Clean, staff friendly, polite, helpful and kind. Most enjoyable break.

I think the title sums it up, it was ok. The room was ok, everything was clean, if a little dated. One of the lights didn't work, but the bed was comfy. Tea and coffee in the room and a TV (no easy chair though). Nice breakfast, pleasant staff (especially when I'd realised that I'd shut my keys in my...

Stayed for the connection to the Norwegian Air Force during WWII who used Thatched House (first floor) as a place to drink. Many things have changed since then, but walking upstairs to the hotel sure brings some of those stories that you have read back into your mind. The bed was large and comfy, but sometimes the British doesn't have...
