We stopped at the hotel as we were attending a wedding at Clearwell castle. We were warmly welcomed and showed to our room. It was beautiful and in its own little block. It had a stunning view. We were most impressed with the little touches like the nepresso machine. Breakfast was delicious and there was a buffet section too. There...

Absolutely love this hotel. Stayed here twice now several years apart and the quality has stayed very high. Rooms are just lovely. Really nice toiletries (Bramley), big fluffy bath towels, dressing gowns hung up for you. Nespresso machine in the room and homemade biscuits. Food is delicious too, lots of locally sourced things. All the little details make this place,...

Dear CookaDuck Thank you for the great review. We are so pleased that you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed all of the small details, such as the blankets. We love the Bramley toiletries, and these have proved very popular with our guests. We do hope that you won't leave it quite so long for a return visit! It would...

My husband booked for a two night Autumn break at the Tudor Farmhouse. Fantastic value for money. We were in a Hatchling room, which while fairly small, had a large shower, a good sized comfy bed and everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Our package included breakfast and evening meal along with pre dinner cocktails. We were even...

If you are looking for an antidote to the numerous chain venues which seem to be taking over the world, you could do far worse than this great place in the middle of the Forest of Dean. It's obvious the owners really care and think about all the aspects which go into creating a special place. We only enjoyed lunch...

Dear EdisonMoon Thank you for the great review of our new lunch menu. We are so pleased that you found the quality to be excellent. With regards to portion size, we feel that our main courses (along with the complimentary homebaked bread served) would be sufficient for most people as a stand alone course. However, there is also the option...

Stayed here as we had a wedding to attend in the nearby Castle, it defiantly has the WOW factor - not your standard hotel, quirky and very cosy! only reason it's not a 5 star is because in the morning we found a earwig in the bathroom. Apart from that everything was lovely, breakfast was very nice as well. Would...

Dear imwhindle1 Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As we are in the country, we do get the occasional bug inside. I'm sorry if this in anyway detracted from an otherwise wonderful stay. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in the...

Been here 4 times now - for business reasons. Would love to go for leisure. The best scrambled eggs I have tasted since 22 years - most hotels just can't achieve it! Really nice rooms. Fantastic reception staff. Ate dinner once and was very impressed. Lovely choice of wines. Would love to visit for a nice weekend away in one...

We stayed on 26 October in The Loft and availed ourselves of the evening meal and breakfast. Warm welcome and tasty ham sandwich from the "grazing menu" to fill a gap before dinner. I could have grazed all afternoon. The room was delightful. In fact I might do a deal with the management and try and live there. Lying in...

We have stayed previously. Food and atmosphere great. Cant do enough for you in a very easy going way. We will definitely return as this is a wonderful hotel to stay in if going to Chepstow races.
