My wife and I first camped here around 10 years ago. Since then we have camped there every Memorial Day Weekend. Our group has grown from 2 to about 20 people at 4 campsites and a cabin.
This is a multi-generational family owned campground and have made improvements each year since we began camping there. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a well stocked camp store for forgotten items.
The lots are huge. Can't catch Covid-19 here if you stay on your site. The majority of the riverfront sites are about 75' riverfront and 150' deep. They have electric and water at these sites. There is a primitive camping area with riverfront sites with no improvements.
The shower houses are individual rooms with shower, toilet, sink and mirror.
There is an incredible array of things to do for children including a swimming pond, game room, playground, putt-putt, rifle range(with adult supervision), hiking, biking and more. The campground has its own kayak/canoe livery with transportation and several different trip packages. There is a boat launch/retrieval ramp in the campground itself for those with their own boats.
It is the last campground on Wally Rd. and has quick access to Loudonville, Mohican S.P., the Kokosing River, the Kokosing Gap Trail, Danville and Mt. Vernon.
I recommend this campground for those who like peace, quiet and a beautiful river. Singles, couples and families will enjoy their stay here. We plan on camping here this summer for a week and hope to return for many years.

We camped at Mohican Wilderness last weekend and it was So much fun! We had not camped here in the fall previously and we have been missing out. There were lots of Halloween themed activities including a moonlight hike to a local historical cemetery and hot dog roast. The River on Fire was great and the staff did a great job for the entire weekend!! We recommend planning now to attend next year's event. (And Wally Road is paved the entire way-the former worst part of the road is now the best)

Booked and paid for a site at this place for the Mohican mountain bike Jamboree 2023. Unfortunately found out that the event was canceled, tried to call and cancel our reservations with Mohican wilderness and they told me I was out of luck. Tried to see if they would let us transfer our paid date to the June 10th date, reschedule date of event, and was told they could only do that if we paid for the whole weekend and they were going to switch our sites. We are hammock campers and the sites they want to put us on do not have enough trees. They offered me no refund at all so I'm out $70 and have no campsite for June 10th. F this campground I would never give them another dollar of my money. What unreasonable people what a s***** business. F u Mohican wilderness campground!!!

Beautiful campgrounds but since the new owner has taken over, it's been ridiculous on rules, rules, rules. We have been going here for over 15 years and if you want a camping trip with nothing but silence then is the place. The sheriff is out patrolling every night and in your business even if you are following the rules. You also better be in bed by quite time otherwise they'll be saying something to you even if it's just the kids playing a board game. Their lots are one of the most expensive around. A tree fell on a camper on a Saturday and they were going to make the people pay for the lot on Sunday if they couldn't get it towed. They offered them no help or concern other than to move the fallen tree. They've screwed up on reservations on several occasions. I will be looking for a new campsite along the river next year.
