Nestled in a prime spot close to Old Trafford and Salford Quays, the AC Hotel by Marriott in Manchester Salford Quays garners praise for its location, often celebrated for proximity to tram stations and local attractions. Guests have called out the hotel's clean and modern atmosphere, adding to the comfort of their stay. While the rooms are deemed clean and cozy, a few guests mention subpar lighting and maintenance. The amenities, including dining options and easy tram access, are also appreciated, although the cost of refreshments and additional charges has received some criticism. The service is generally regarded as friendly and attentive, despite a few noted inconsistencies.

Stayed here on business for 2 nights and was all you could ask for really. Staff were very friendly, the bed is huge and extremely comfortable. Blinds block out light well and the room is virtually pitch black at night. The shower is powerful and warm and the room was very clean. The gym is small but has all you need and the breakfast arrangement is very good although I only ordered fruits and juices so I couldn't comment on the cooked food. The wi-fi was quick and the hotel is a good location from 2 tram stops on 2 separate lines. I am staying here again soon and I am looking forward to it. The only minor point (and it was minor) was a broken mirror light meaning the bathroom was slightly darker than it should have been; but this didn't matter much.

Super hotel and a great find, perfectly placed for visiting Manchester sights. The reception and check in was easy, the staff friendly. Our room was well appointed and with a view of Media City. Breakfast had a good choice, well presented and plenty of it. There are the options to have different eggs from the buffet as well. There is a car park which for city centre is not overly priced for 24 hrs. Across the road is the tram stop which takes around 15mins to St Peters square where you can connect to any route. Slept like babies in a comfy bed and didn’t hear any intrusive noise throughout the night. And then there is the shower - fabulous plus the hotel toiletries are eco friendly which is good to see.
We hope to be back.

As a budget sort of hotel the AC is fairly ace. Staff are great, the public areas and room spotlessly clean. At the price they charge I’d say tough to better. Our room was modern and perfectly clean, decent size and well laid out. For us the bed was a bit firm, the air con not consistently cool through the night, and a shower cubicle rather than over a bath would have made almost perfect. At this price in a city, facilities are good with complimentary water and a couple of small tins of beer. After a night at the theatre we had a drink in the bar which was again friendly, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was better than expected, decent coffee, great juice and a large selection of fruit, continental and traditional hot ‘English’. If staying for a work night or the theatre again, I’d definitely stay here.

We visited about 3 years ago as our first time out as a couple; we loved it so much, we knew we wanted to mark almost 4 years together with our favorite hotel.

We were thrilled after a 4 hour drive to arrive only to find the hotel is 50% scaffolding. Nothing about this is mentioned anywhere I can see on the website and for £330 for 3 nights, I certainly feel that it should have been - we wouldn't have come until it was done.

Initially we thought it's fine, we wouldn't be there much anyway but the work was very invasive with scaffolding immediately outside our room. We were upgraded to a Superior, which was lovely, but it's hard to enjoy the 'water side views' through iron bars, mesh and the blackout curtains we had to close because workers were walking back and forth in front of the window most of each afternoon. If they weren't relentlessly hammering that is.

I want to make it absolutely clear though; the staff, the room itself, and the breakfasts were fantastic. We briefly spoke with the housekeeper on the second day, quickly rambled off a few things we'd like in the room, she remembered absolutely all of it. Even on the day we had a DND sign on the door, we came out later to find bottles of water by the door just in case.

Reception was always friendly and helpful, and the waiting staff during breakfast and dinner were always serving with smiles. I had the Chicken Roulade which tasted amazing but I did expect a bit more, even just some mash to make it a heavier meal. Breakfasts is all you can eat; we did indeed fill up before our days out. I recommend getting it at check-in, you'll want it for exploring and it's a few quid cheaper.

Overall; don't go to this hotel whilst the construction is there, unless you don't mind the scaffolding. Save it for when you can make the most of what is truly a gem in Manchester, especially for special occasions. It's such a shame out first visit has been tainted by a really bitter second experience.

Stayed one night on business. Reception friendly and room was ok, a little tired and leather chair had strange bald area on arm which looked unkempt. Floor not clean down the side of fridge.

Food in restaurant was ok but nothing amazing. Staff were very dreary and waiter quite unfriendly. Took 15 minutes after I asked for wine menu to receive my glass of white wine which wasn’t chilled . I then ordered a starter and main which then came together so my steak was lukewarm once I got round to eating it. I could have sent the steak back whilst I ate the calamari but knew that it would just sit under a hot plate getting ruined so decided just to put up with it. Once I’d eaten I was then ignored by a couple of staff milling around so sat with dirty plates in front of me and no offer of dessert or anything for 20 minutes. Exasperated I then just gathered my things up and went over to waitress sitting down at the desk and advised that I was tired of waiting and to put food on my room bill.
I then proceeded to go to the local garage to buy some wine and dessert which I ordinarily would have ordered in the restaurant had the staff been bothered serving me.
Very disappointing given the good reviews I have read. Poor unfriendly service. Certainly wouldn’t return.

13 nights of excellent customer service and I can’t thank Diego and the team enough for looking after me and making me feel at home .
Diego has been amazing from the moment I walked in and everything I have asked has been done so professionally and he very much exceeded my expectations.
Nothing I asked was to hard or to complicated and he always managed to make me feel comfortable . The room is nice and clean and comfortable and the house keeping team where lovely to making sure I had everything I needed for such a long stay .

Thank you again and I can’t wait to be back

And to Ac hotel you are very lucky to have such wonderful staff 💕

Bought a package that was offered on the marriott Hotel website as a treat for me a d my husband after a busy Christmas. On arrival the was no queen size room and the evening meal that was in the package was actually a £20 voucher per person ! Still to make the most of a nice day without our children we headed over to the quays to some of the fantastic bars. On heading back over to the hotel for some food in the evening there was quite a lot of confusion between the restaurant/bar staff and the reception... unaware of any packages that was offered. Was charged full price for the bill and had to wait for the staff to confer what the correct bill was actually to be charged. Then no prosecco that I was told I could take up to the room with no alternate offered. Ongoing home was then charged an extra bar bill that we didn't have and then to be told it will be refunded as a good will gesture but it was down to myself to ask for an alternative!! Needlessly saying will not be staying at this particular marriott hotel again!!

Dear Emma, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I'm sorry that on this occasion you did not receive the level of service we normally provide here. With regards to the size of the room, all of our rooms at AC Salford Quays are queen size rooms with the exception of our twin rooms which equate to a super king size when joined together. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in the surrounding area and took advantage of the great location we are in. I apologise for any confusion with regards to the package you had purchased however it was explained in the terms and conditions what the package included which was an allowance per person rather than a whole meal. Although you have expressed that you would not be interested in staying with us again, I hope you reconsider and offer us the opportunity to provide you a fantastic stay. Kind regards, Alexa Foster Front Office Manager

I really enjoyed my recent stay at AC Marriott Salford Quays.
Transportation wise it is better to get off the tram at Exchange Square which is about 3 minutes walk to the hotel rather than Salford Quays which is theoretically closer but road works makes the trek across to the hotel difficult and time consuming. There is also al large car park.
Reception was friendly at check in and checkout, although the checkout agent was possibly knew as she was OK on the actual checkout procedure but got flustered when I asked a question about line items on the bill.
I had an eight floor room which had a great view over the Quays. The was a large window letting in plenty of light, and the curtains were "black out" quality meaning you could get a great night's sleep.
Plenty of room to work and to relax. However storage space was limited and both available drawers were stuffed full with hotel "bits and pieces'.
Buffet breakfast had a good hot and cold selection and there was a reasonably pried menu in the evening with a great choice of tasty meals

Dear yhi904, Thank you for a great review, we appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you found your journey to the hotel to be easy and simple, we aren't far from the main train station and the tram is a great mode of transportation from the station to us. Thank you for your kind words regarding our reception team, due to Covid 19 and the obvious pressures on hospitality, most of the team are still quite new however we receive very high praise of our front office team. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed your room and the view of the quays. We usually keep complimentary robes in the draws for our guests to enjoy during their stay, however one of our associates would have happily removed these from the room to provide you with more storage had you preferred. Thank you for your feedback on breakfast, I'm glad you enjoyed the selection of the European breakfast we serve at AC Hotels. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel on your next visit to the area. Kind regards Alexa Foster Front Office Manager

Stayed here for quite a lengthy visit so took advantage of most things with the exception of the restaurant and gym ! On the whole I had a very pleasant stay here, the room was very comfortable and spacious. Housekeeping were excellent with the room being thoroughly cleaned every day and all supplies replenished. I must point out the high quality of the breakfast provided, very good selection on offer, the cooked part was fresh and tasty and there was plenty of choice for all. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, the scaffolding was still up but that didn’t really bother me however the car parking is something which could be improved but how they go about this I do not know. Also, as a suggestion maybe a discount for long stay visitors for the charge for parking, £40 for 5 days can sting a bit, I was there for 10 so it really hurt ! However, would I stay here again ? Absolutely, enjoyed my time here and will recommend to friends and family if visiting Salford

From Piccadilly Station you can take the local tram to the hotel. It is about a 20 minute ride to Salford Quays stop. The stop is across the street from the hotel. Tram goes toward Media City UK. CityMapper is a great app to use for transportation.
