Dropped in on a quiet Monday quite early in the evening. Food was being served, and was of a satisfactory pub standard, but not outstanding. I had the beef and ale pie. The vegetables were well cooked, but the pie itself made no pretence of being homemade; just looked and tasted like a bog-standard pie from a catering firm; no...

We called in for a couple of drinks on a cold Saturday afternoon in March. It was pleasantly and we felt very welcome both by the staff and the locals. It was cosy with the fire alight and we enjoyed the free newspapers and good WIFI. The beer was expensive- but it was hotel prices.

Popped in to watch the 2nd half of the rugby final...we have been here for all the matches as they are fairly child friendly. After we got drinks and a viewing position of the rugby, a couple walked in...the lady heavily pregnant. A table was reserved for a food booking so she just perched on the end chair...to be immediately...

On the whole good. Breakfast tasty, very filling so didn't need any lunch. But husband got a stomach bug and didn't want to eat supper I asked landlady if I could have a sandwich. I just got a flat response of they don't do sandwichs in the evening. So sitting next to poorly husband hungry. Busy pub + function going on....

I see other reviews rate The Crown fairly evenly from one to five stars and I can see why. We stayed for two nights while in Emsworth for a family gathering and the hotel both charmed and annoyed in equal amounts. It was great for - atmosphere, convenience, really lovely helpful staff (including the grumpy (by reputation) owner, the quality...

Friendly welcome, wonderful staff great food and beer. We felt it was good value too. Didn't really want to leave but we couldn't stretch a leisurely lunch any further. We wish we were local as this would become our regular haunt for food and live music. We will be back.

What more would you want from a pub? Disappointed to say the least. Read my full review on the Crown Hotel page for the full story but needless to say we won't be returning any time soon even though it's local..much better pubs to be found in the near vicinity.

We drove down from the East Midlands to drop a dingy off , we chose the crown as it accepted dogs and we had our two well behaved dogs with us. We found the accommodation in keeping with price , the evening meal was excellent, it suited us fine for the one night we stayed

This is a great place to spend time with friends on a Sunday. They give a choice of starter and main or main and dessert with a glass of red or white wine as a special. The food is very good as is the service and ambience and at 3pm they have entertainment, last time a good singer and this...
