This is a very picturesque place to stay , country house style. The rooms are good, clean and well priced. The breakfast is as expected. The one downfall is a lack of staff in the bar at night, only one whilst I was there, with almost a full hotel. This was made even more annoying when it appeared that'managers' were standing around chatting. It was taking approx 15/20 minutes to get severed a drink, I went to bed in the end as I got fed up waiting to be served.

We had an away night with friends, and were hugely impressed with the hotel and estate which has an intriguing history. The grounds are extensive and tranqui.. our room was in the stable block, with parking within the courtyard. This is a quiet location, across from the main house. The room was in good condition, with a comfortable king-size bed, safe, and powerful shower. Our package included table d'hote dinner, which was very good, and an equally good buffet breakfast. Staff were pleasant, but often unable to answer basic questions. This is a training issue for management.

I cannot write a review about a stay there but I can make comments on my experience of trying to book events there. I run a very large production and event company and visited the elevtham with a view to book 12 separate events with them over a 6 month project, also another 24 events for following year due to the raise in numbers of members. I visited and was shown around rather quickly by a receptionist who informed me there event time only worked part time and they wasn't sure when they would next be in, but they took my details and told me someone would call me ASAP. Well two weeks later a lady called Louise emailed me to see what my inquiry was, I informed her that I had found another hotel in fleet to cater for all my events and was able to deal with my enquiries as soon as they were made. So my advice for anyone looking to book an event or a wedding you might be disappointed with the service you receive there are a lovely group of hotels in fleet that will look after you.

We had the most amazing overnight stay here. It was a birthday celebration for my boyfriend and Josh who booked the most beautiful room for me made sure there was a birthday note waiting in the room upon our arrival... this really made my partner smile! Josh also kindly made our booking in the restaurant for us that evening and the food was amazing! We opted for the steak and it didn't disappoint! We also had the pleasure of being served by Frankie in the bar... His cocktails are simply divine!!! Nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel really welcome and at home. The time spent in this gorgeous hotel went far too quickly and we didn't want to leave. It helps that the surroundings are simply beautiful but what makes this whole experience is the amazing staff who work here... special mention to Josh on reception and Frankie in the bar... Thanks again we can't wait to come back again one day! Immy and Josh xxx

You can't fail to be impressed by this historic stunning building. The Elvetham itself is stunning. HOWEVER...... the dining experience is not as great. It could be great with the right people to promote it but fro our visit it was very disappointing. 1. No one at the restaurant booking, we had to wonder in and find someone 2. Young, inexperienced, unattentive waiting staff 3. Bread roll served on a saucer plate (as in tea cup and saucer) note a side plate. This is very basic but clearly demonstrates a lack of care or direction from leadership in the restaurant 4. After sitting for less than 5 minutes we were asked if we were ready to order our food, but We had to ask to have some drinks 5. I'm guessing it was either chefs night off or it a substandard chef. Food needs seasoning and was only OK. Definitely not great. Overall the dining experience was underwhelming. Needs work!
