Dropped by this inn in the hope of a bar snack whilst in the middle of a long country walk in this idyllic setting. On Sunday lunchtime at 1.30pm we could have been unlucky as it was buzzing with customers, however a table was found for us with an explanation that we might have to wait a while because of... More

We are locals. We went here for a relaxing treat on Friday night. Sadly the new owners/management have changed the menu and staff are not that friendly. The prices are also SKY HIGH! The menu reads like a shopping list - too minimalist for its own good. The prices make Mayfair in London look cheap. The service is ok, but... More

We just happened to be passing about just gone 11am and lo and behold a country pub open before noon!! We called in and were impressed by the welcome of the young couple who run it. Some good beers and sun streaming into the bar. Menu a bit limited but worth a try

We spent 2 nights at the Peat Spade Inn and it was such a lovely old world inn. Small but everything was there. We had dinner on our first evening which was a lovely meal, beautifully presented. Breakfasts were another great experience a full English or or sorts of other lovely bites. My husband was on a fly fishing experience... More

If you are local and just dropping in for a pub lunch they are not really interested. The bar menu consisted of 5 items, 3 of which were various types of chips! They offer chicken drumsticks which they actually cooked suave and managed to undercook them.

Mixed feelings about The Peat Spade. It is an unusual building with wonderful windows and attracts an affuent cientele which is obvious from the cars in the car park. On our visit we saw a Ferrari 458, a Porsche, top of the range Jaguar and a BMW to name just a few!! The dining room is very attractive especially at... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with my brother-in-law and the dogs. Everything was excellent and I can't speak highly enough of the service which was exceptional - the manager and her staff literally couldn't do enough for us. We will be returning for some fly fishing soon and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Thoroughly recommended.

We have been waiting for the Peat Spade to come under new ownership as the previous owners just ran out of steam! In the past, it had been our favourite local pub/restrauant but the Grey Hound in Stockbridge came along and the Peat Spade just didn't match up. So with high hopes, we went for meal at the hopefully revitalised... More

Having booked a night here in February for our stay last week we were really excited as the reviews were excellent. Choosing this location in an ideal setting was perfect for us to relax during our journey to Portsmouth. The Inn was lovely with an excellent atmosphere and we were greeted by very welcoming staff. We decided to have something... More
