This is a very lovely place to spend your time. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning served by pleasant people in a beautiful environment. The food was prepared to order and quality. The rooms were clean and tidied with care. I can't say enough about the staff, they were helpful, friendly and a joy...

The place smelled of damp in reception, the bedroom was tiny, but in photos looks twice the size. The net curtains to the downstairs front of the place were odd matching and off colour. The whole building interior is tired looking and needs a good make over. I took my wife there for a surprise and i was very disappointed...

We spend a lot of time travelling, and the New Forest is one of our favourites. We also spend a lot of time in b & bs. This is perhaps the best we've come across. The situation is perfect - a short walk from Lyndhurst - or the ponies across the road, you choose. The Edwardian house retains Edwardian decor...

Thank you for a lovely friendly welcome Ernesto 😄. We enjoyed our 3 night break and if we visit Lyndhurst again, will stay at the Rufus House. For people reading this review, if you like peace and quiet book a rear bedroom. Breakfast was cooked perfectly no complaints whatsoever.

Lovely guest house just 2 minutes walk from centre of Lyndhurst and opposite, across the road is the open New Forest, complete with its ponies, cows and donkeys. It is on the main A35 and we had a ground floor front en suite bedroom, you can hear the traffic, but we didn't find the road noise too bad and we...

Stayed here for two nights whilst we explored the New Forest, good location and within a minutes walk to the village of lydenhurst. Our booking was a little last minute so we ended up with a small twin room, on the top floor with two small single beds. Room was cosy, headroom not great, and reasonably well equipped, perhaps a...

We stayed here last week to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. The owners were amazingly friendly and so helpful. The room we had was at the back of the hotel and was very peaceful and light and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked to order.the location is superb for all parts of the New Forest. We would...

Yet another superb stay at the Rufus in Lyndhurst as guests of Ernesto and Etsuko. We were so fortunate to stumble across this excellent b&b of such character a few years ago in a convenient place for all the many attractions of "the Capital of the Forest". Our favourite restaurant, La Pergola, is almost next door! Breakfast, featuring tasty Forest...
