We are staying here with another couple and our cockerpoo Maisie. The hotel is beautiful and immaculately clean. Staff are friendly and welcoming, food is delicious. We are hoping to be snowed in overnight and stay a few more days. Our room is in the garden block as we have a dog and is spacious and well appointed.

We’re getting married here in May next year and last week we visited for our wedding menu tasting. Our experience was amazing! The quality of food cooked by Mo was perfect and we had some lovely wine with it too. Our service was with Finley and he was the best host that we could have asked for! He was very friendly and welcoming and we were located on a quiet table in the bar area, so it was very private and relaxed. Please ensure Fin and Mo are both working for our wedding as they were both fantastic - a huge thank you to them both!

We have stayed in this group of hotels numerous times but on this occasion we were very disappointed. I then wrote personally to the managing director listing my complaints but he hasn’t even bothered to reply.

Dear Mr Owen, Thank you for being a regular guest of our collection, we are sorry that trip advisor does not highlight your positive stays with us in the past. We have searched our local system regarding feedback and your contact and at this time I must stress that our internal system shows no correspondence with yourself. We are sorry that this has resulted in further angst.

We were due to attend a photography workshop being hosted at one of the other hotels in the chain and had booked additional nights but we were asked to transfer our booking following staffing and structural issues. We selected the Beaulieu as we had already booked Sunday Lunch at the Drift Inn which is adjacent and the location in the hear of the first appealed. We arrived Saturday afternoon to find the car park almost full and a wedding in progress. On checking in we were informed that the wedding would go on till late but that the bass would be turned down. When we mentioned an evening meal we were told that the hotel was not serving food and that the Drift was fully booked so we would need to eat elsewhere. The lady on reception said she could book somewhere for us and recommended the Bold Forrester which was 5 minutes drive away (or would have been had the centre road shortcut not been closed...a fact she appeared to be unaware of). In the end we were simply handed the telephone number and left to make our own booking which we did. The room whilst reasonably spacious was not completely clean...dust in the corners of the bathroom. There were no tea bags and when I asked reception i was handed two! We were woken several times during the night by wedding guests on either side of us returning to rooms ..it was a shame we had not been informed that the hotel was hosting a wedding when asked to transfer our booking as we might have chosen another hotel in the chain. We had been given instruction on check in as to where breakfast would be served and incorrectly assumed it would be in the main hotel but on coming down we were informed it would be served in the Drift which entailed a dash through the pouring rain. Breakfast itself was a disappointment. For a hotel of this standard we expected cooked to order but were confronted with a buffet and not a very good one with poor quality ingredients. (thankfully our sunday lunch (booked for my birthday) was of much better quality. Following our experience we decided to transfer our second nights booking over to the other hotel in the chain, The Lyndhurst Lodge which proved to be a far better experience...perhaps the Beaulieu could learn a thing or two from its sister.

Thank you for your understanding following our request to move to another venue within our collection, we are pleased that our small group was able to accommodate such rather than cancelled disappointment. Thank you for your feedback and comments regarding our Inn, we were able to transfer all of your booking requests and particularly our confirmation detail (the same for each property) with regards to holding events and our polite request for dining to be made in advance. We are pleased that our reception team were able to assist with providing local establishments at this time for dining, sadly the commencement of roadworks in this location was not information our team knew at this time. Thank you for your positive comments regarding your birthday Sunday lunch, we are pleased you enjoyed your lunchtime experience with us. All our venues continue to offer buffets at a time of greater occupancy, however this is a consistent level of ingredients used across our collection; butchers sausages, free range eggs and of course quality back bacon. We are sorry for your disappointing experience The Beaulieu Inn team

We have just got back from here after a 2 day break away from the kids for. My birthday. Very mixed review of this hotel. Firstly the positives The location is amazing, the beautiful new forest on your doorstep. Wake up to the ponies not far from your window. The staff all seem friendly. The room was a nice size with a large comfy bed, relatively clean. We ordered food the 1st evening from the drift which is the on site restaurant. Was very tasty and a good size portion. Now the negitves The room was relatively clean but the maintenance amd general up keep was very poor. Alot of knocks and bad wear and tear that hasnt been fixed .aking the the room look shabby. (See attached pictures). 1 of the radiators in the room didn't work. The dressing table is placed under the tv with no mirror. Mirror is on another wall, which really didn't make sense. No biscuits with the coffe and tea. We were there 2 nights and no one came in to do any replenishment or cleaning. A bit at the front of the hotel just outside front door was over flowing with rubbish and dog poo bags and wasn't emptyed all weekend. We booked breakfast for both mornings but cancelled the 2nd day as the 1st day was a disappointment. Food in the bay Marie was tepid. And the 'continental' breakfast was minimal. No fruit, yogurt, crumpets, pancakes. Such a shame this lovely little hotel is let down by the poor upkeep and shabbyness. A little bit more attention to detail and this hotel could be a true 4star not a 3 that it currently would be rated as.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we do hope you managed to take some positive photos during your break away, the heathland is particularly stunning this time of year and as you say, right on our doorstep. We very much appreciate both sides of your feedback, our welcome letters and booking confirmation do detail a number of changes to our operating practices similarly too menus which detail the availability in your inclusive continental, many items available from the kitchen at this time. Rest assured, new team members and investment is ensuring our usually high standards are consistently met. With thanks The Beaulieu Inn team
