wow... My wife took me here for my 50th birthday as we was visiting the motor museum nearby, on arrival we was welcomed warmly and shown our room which was lovely and comfortable, there was bath robes and slippers provided and bottled water for the tea making facility, they provided room service if required along with the usual wake up...

Just before Christmas we has the opportunity of having dinner at the Montagu Arms and we went for the taster menu together with the selected wines for each course, it was a most tantalizing, self indulging, wonderful experience. Not only was each course delicious, the sommelier's selection of the wines for the 7 courses was excellent and complimented them well....

We had occasion to stay at the Montagu Arms for a private party shortly after New Year. Having stayed once in the past, and eaten there on several occasions, I was underwhelmed. The staff were excellent. The food (maybe the Michelin star was home for Christmas) was borderline appalling. The room was cramped and expensive.

Dear Guest I was saddened when I read your review and must apologise for your disappointing experience and the delay in replying. I have made inquiries into which private party you are referring to and would like to assure you that I was aware of the situation. I had also spoken with the organiser of the private party. Stayed on Jan 2nd as a 40th birthday treat for the wife. Parked around back with ease, lovely welcome and a nice man carried our bags to a lovely big room (17). Sometimes this older hotels seem dusty and dated, not this one. Clean as anything and really really nice. Loads of history in a beautiful village this place really...

We go back time and time again. As others have said, the Montagu Arms is full of old world charm and traditional service. This is how classic English hotels used to be. Not a spa, gymnasium or swimming pool in sight - thank god. Not the ideal location it has to be said, situated on a bend on a main...

Visited the restaurant for a family birthday meal with my in laws and 3 Sons. The food was stunning and beautifully presented but it was the staff who made it such a special meal. They were attentive, knowledgeable and charming without being overbearing and were fantastic with the 3 boys. Despite being a formal restaurant there was a lovely atmosphere....

My husband and I recently stayed two nights at the Montagu arms and thoroughly enjoyed it. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of gluten free options and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed some lovely country walks and also a visit to the very interesting National Motor Museum. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in this hotel as a wedding present to experience the Michelin star restaurant which we did. I definitely would say the focus of this hotel goes on the beautiful grounds and restaurant. The rooms were large and very nice but we were expecting something a little more grand for the price particularly the bathroom which was just average...

We stayed here for one night in December. We had some absolutely spectacular food in the restaurant - the tasting menu was really incredible, worthy of the Michelin stars and some of the best food I've ever eaten. It was matched incredibly well with wine through each course, all accompanied with super professional but very relaxed service - perfect! The...
