Attending a show at the Harpenden Public Halls and looked for a pub with rooms. Found the Old Cock Inn on bookings.com and reserved a double just for the one night, a Friday. The pub has a car park to the rear, which looked handy as the town looked to have restricted parking all around the area. The rate wasn't...

I recently stayed here whilst away on business - a Monday evening, in December, paying £90 for the night. I guess being close to London / M25 and Luton Airport I thought this was quite reasonable; but would now consider this as very pricey for what it actually is, which is essentially a bedroom at a pub! There is no...

I stayed in the old cock in on and off for two weeks while working in Harpenden and am considering a return visit for a family weekend away. I stayed in two of the rooms as did my colleagues. All were clean, spacious and nicley decorated. The staff were friendly and the food on the menu was very nice. Well...

Stayed on a Sunday recently, I had had a noisy experience previously that I brought to their attention and they gave me this complimentary night, we loved the room bed so comfy, carpets thick and fresh, bathroom spotless, bar staff were very friendly as was the landlady, my standards are high so I'm surprised all the negative reviews

Stayed for just one night. Quite pricey for just a bed but it was comfortable and clean. Room was a big size with a shower. You are on a road side so can be noisy and Sunday morning the church bells will wake you. If you know what you are getting then no surprises. It served its purpose for us...

Saturday lunch, we had two prawn ciabattas and tempura prawns. The tempura prawns were good and were served with some dressed leaves. The ciabattas were filled generously with prawns, the problem was that the prawns were very low quality, very small, tough and tasteless. I would much rather have less prawns but better quality. Also very cheap tasting tomato ketchup,...

Pros: Big comfortable bed with a thick duvet. Great shower with thick soft towels. Excellent location- walking distance to train station, all shops and restaurants, and Nickey Line walking trail. Cons: Internet signal was strong but the password they gave me was incorrect and when I brought this to their attention, they basically shrugged and said it was correct and...

Cute Pub along the way. We stopped in the evening for a final night cap. Great atmosphere and service was excellent! Quaint, cute British pub in downtown , wonderful experience, I would recommend for drinks.

I've been recently back there with my wife for those amazing ribs they used to heve. After we sat down we found out that the pub is under new management and there are no ribs which we knew anymore. We decided to have only a drink. When checking the menu we been just terified of the new prices. A burger...
