Hotel itself is very spacious. We were met very quickly at Reception and all details ready to be processed. The rooms are very spacious and contain all that you need for a weekend stay. The various parts of the Hotel contain much character. There was a wedding in process when we arrived but that did not interfere at all with...

A great place to stay for business or pleasure. Staff very friendly and the food in the restaurant is great. Reasonable rates too. Would book in here again without hesitation. Would be nice to see the grounds in the summer.

From our greeting on arrival to our checking out, everything was wonderful. We met friends who we had not spent time with for quite a few years so were looking for a very relaxed setting which we had, in sumptuous surroundings. Included in our stay was afternoon cream tea and breakfast. We chose to eat in at the hotel restaurant....

Further to previous review, DownHall has now decided that they will, once again, accept dogs in certain rooms. The reason given for suspending this facility was that it may have been dangerous for dogs whilst the refurbishments were ongoing. The new look in the West wing is fresh and bright and at last, they have done away with those awful...

The service and staff were great! Emily the girl that served us in the Cocktail bar/lounge was so helpful and gave us great service. The restaurant was lovely, the food was excellent, our compliments to the Chef and staff. The breakfast was delicious, the food was very fresh and lots of it! We booked 2 rooms on the first floor...

I stayed here on October 15th with my partner and can not find a single thing to fault this place on. The staff were amazing, we were always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The room was beautiful and the grounds were stunning. The whole place was simply breath taking. We had dinner in...

At no fault of their own, the only reason for the 'Average' score is their boiler broke down when we arrived, and was not fixed until the following morning. If we hadn't have had the issue of no hot water and no heating this would have been a nice experience. Booked to stay on a Saturday night in their Suite....

A hugely disappointing visit. As a vegan I called twice, once for the initial reservation 6 weeks before the visit - and I was assured Down Hall cater for vegans - then again 2 weeks prior to the reservation where I was assured: 'yes Down Hall cater for vegans and it's noted on the reservation!' Once seated I asked for...

Myself and 6 members of my family booked the Halloween Ball (as we initially understood it would be) and paid £42.50 for a 3 course meal, arrival drink and dance. Being at Down Hall, where I know they host many weddings and grand events, I had high expectations. However, when we arrived there was nobody to greet us at the...

The wedding itself was great and all the evening entertainment. However.... The bar drinks prices are extortionate costing £6.25 for a jack Daniels and coke! Then if you went to your room and order a bowl of chips it is the following. £4.50 for the chips, £4.00 room service charge and then £10 for cutlery. Costing a grant total of...
