I stayed here over a few weeks and stayed in various rooms from the Manor House to the extension wing. The Manor rooms were big and well equipped clean but could have been better maintained. I believe these rooms are set more for the wedding guest over the weekends. The front rooms can be noisy because of deliveries and the...

Very poor reception upon arrival - receptionist was indifferent on the border of rude. Room was in the 'old manor' wing and was formerly servants' quarters. Okay and really clean; quirky but very, very warm (fans available though). Bar service at the wedding we were attending was abysmal - a 35 minute wait for a glass of wine! Breakfast was...

This stay really is a story of two halves. On the one hand Stendish Manor Hotel is a beautiful building set in fantastic grounds and we were more than happy with our room which was comfortable and clean. However, customer services was lacking. We had a couple of problems including a broken TV that didn't work for the whole 4...

Overall our stay was good we were attending a wedding reception and stayed the night before and after wedding. We were offered a different room in check in, one with a nicer view, and agreed. This room was on the first floor as opposed to the ground floor which the original, room was on. We were given directions to the...

I stayed at Shendish Manor Hotel several times, and I had a good impression, but what happened at my last stay was the worse experience I ever had with a hotel. The room had a light which could not be switched off. I've spent some time trying myself to find why, afterwards I called reception. I had to insist to...

Attended a corporate presentation over "afternoon tea": Tea arrived fifteen minutes late Sandwiches, cakes and scones arrived twenty minutes late The cakes were obviously via outside caterers - they were well made and tasted nice. Scones were overcooked and poor. Sandwiches - oh dear! Obviously made on site. Supermarket bread. Butter that had to be scraped off (there was a...

Went for a Sunday afternoon tea with 7members of family ranging in age from 2-92!! Lovely ambiance and we were sat looking out on the lovely greenery. The afternoon tea itself was average to good, plenty of sandwiches, cakes and scones to go round. Slightly disappointing however was the service, very slow bringing out tea and coffee and very slow...

We stayed here for a wedding. There were some hiccups as far as the wedding was concerned but I'll leave that to the bride and groom to report. We were given room cards that didn't work 3 times and had a good 5 minutes journey from our room to reception. The receptionist stated that this had been happening all day...

Being fair, I did contact the manager before I left this review and in all fairness we were offered a free afternoon tea or a discounted next stay. We live nowhere near the area though and will not be risking staying again as we did not find a big draw to Hemel Hempsted. Much of my review is a direct...
