Had a really good lunch at the Wood file at the end of December. Was a large variety of food to choose from, really good value friendly bar staff and nice views. Would highly recommend. Six of us had a variety of different dishes from belly pork to baguettes and all seem to be really good quality and value.

We visited The Woodvale this evening as a family for a Sunday roast dinner. The staff were very welcoming and we were shown to our reserved table straight away. Our food arrived quite quickly. We all had the smaller of the roast dinners, but there was ample there. The food was freshly cooked, hot, plentiful and very tasty. All in...

The Woodvale had everything I've ever wanted for a night's stay. Very smart, clean large double room with sofa/dressing area and wonderful views across the Solent. Immaculate bathroom with a proper bath, plus shower. Downstairs, a large comfortable traditional bar with friendly staff serving a wide range of meals and several real ales including a heavenly Fullers London Pride. Excellent...

One of the world's great views out the front windows, and the beers were well looked after. The food was okay, but just not quite as good as it used to be last time I was here. Although it isn't one, it has the 'feel' of a chain, managed pub...with none of the personal touch of a family pub. I...

Stayed here at the week-end, staff were very friendly, rooms were great. The party we attended in their function room was catered for exceptionally well. It has all you want when staying away from home with the added bonus of a lovely view.

My husband and I have eaten many times at The Woodvale whilst holidaying on the isle of Wight and always had great food and in winter really loved the welcoming open fire blazing in the grate. In August, we decided to stay there with our Canadian Cousins for 2 nights bed and breakfast, as a base to visit Osborne House...

Called in for Lunch for 2 & sat outside overlooking sea lovely spot. Had 2 crab sandwiches side salad chips and 2 drinks £22.45 expensive but good view and good quality food. No itemised bill which is a shame. The drinks were half draft cider and 1 large draft lemonade which must have been about £4.50
