Don't often get taken out by my children, but on Monday the 27th April it happened. Chose the George as the previous week I had seen the prawns coming out the kitchen and liked what I saw. The food was excellent and the service was also very good, thank you Fraser and his team.

I wanted to like this hotel because of it's distinguished history and the fact it's the only place to stay in one of my favourite Kent towns, Cranbrook. It does offer lovely accommodations with ok appointments and a comfortable bed HOWEVER the walls of this hotel are comically thin. I stayed in the Copper Room, which had a beautiful bathroom...

Stayed for one night in a feature room. This is a pleasant hotel that combines its old character very well with modern expectations. Obviously, the 'olde world' charm comes with some drawbacks - crooked and creaky floors in places and quite few steps to encounter - but overall quality and facilities pretty good. Bed could have been a bit more...

Me and my mates are regulars at this pub. We came in to watch the football on a Sunday, and before kick off we were told to leave the room and sit outside while they had a team meeting. This was after spending £20 on drinks and food in preparation for the big game.

I found this to be a very comfortable place to stay for a night while on a road trip through the south of England. The building is old (the lack of even floors added to its charm) but has been nicely refurbished on the inside and the rooms were comfortable, clean and well furnished. Staff was friendly. The restaurant and...

I am not in a position to rate the rooms or the cleanliness of the hotel as I only got a chance to be there well after hours. I work in cranbrook and got stranded one night, got to the George hotel and asked one of the staff if I could call a cab, she then used her mob phone...

Shepherd neame have killed another potentially magnificent establishment. Good one guys. No good draught beers. Food is excellent but expensive. The manager is rude and this should be factored in if you wish to stay. Otherwise this is a decent place.

What a fascinating hotel in a lovely town, the staff were brilliant, friendly, welcoming and professional! A rare breed! They were all very passionate about the hotel and it's town, very helpful & knowledgeable of the area. We stayed fir 2 nights, breakfast was extremely good, fresh and plentiful. We had a fabulous dinner, fillet steak, cooked to perfection! Our...

Our previous stay in Cranbrook was at the lovely Church Gates B & B but since they never replied to our booking request, we stayed overnight at the George Hotel, and very pleased to have done so. Very old, slightly quirky place, lovely rooms, terrific staff, good breakfast. Great value and highly recommended.
