We popped in here after going to Dungeness with my family and small granddaughter. We had a variety of dishes - stew, curry and baked spud. All pretty good and tasty. Good pint of Fullers and all very reasonable on price. Other reviews have been pretty damming as the place needs a good refurbishment, yes it's a bit run down...

Ended up staying here at the last minute. The host was excellent, very polite and professional despite the late hour I arrived. The room was large with a huge double bed which was very comfortable. There was a sink in the room and two communal showers available but I didn't bump into anyone else when using them. There is no...

The George Hotel was our port in a storm. We were hungry and nothing was open in March. We were made to feel welcome by staff and regulars at the bar. They provided warm food and even had some cake left over from Mothers day. Thank you

When we arrived before 6pm it was clear he was out of it... and we just knew that he would kick off. Despite this, he continued to be served knocking over drinks and eventually wanting to fight everyone...

I have stayed at The George hotel three times now, most recently on the August bank holiday Sunday, had a lovely carvery in the afternoon and that night they had a very good singer performing in the bar. The rooms are spotless and the hotel is a relaxed and friendly place,I will be going back soon.

Per Judith R's review from 30/5: "The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was an ensuite but no soap/cleaner in shower. No hot water in the hand basin, and no glasses. Room is over bar so it was a bit noisy on Saturday night! Parking area at the back of hotel and convenient position." Well, during...

Popped into the George Hotel in Lydd High Street for a quick pint. Only one choice of bitter, which was served without any of the bonhomie you expect from a village pub. So a disappointing start. The outside of the pub/hotel has just been redecorated and looks fine but it belies a drab interior which is in need of a...
