We went with a coach trip group to this hotel from 4-7 Nov 16. On arrival mid afternoon we were warmly greeted with tea and cakes which was a nice touch. Quickly given our keys and directed to our rooms (2 on the ground floor). The room was airy and the decoration in good condition for a hotel of this... More

I booked this hotel to take my Mum for her 70th Birthday. The hotel was perfect and staff friendly. We only had the breakfasts which was fabulous, the staff very helpful and attentive, and they looked happy to work there!!The only criticism is that I asked if they could decorate the room I had booked for my Mum with balloons... Our second trip to The Smithscourt Hotel. Again we upgraded to the honeymoon suite with its four poster bed and elegant decor. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is first rate and packed with locally sourced ingredients. There's lots to see in Margate, The Turner Contempory, The Shell Groto, The Old Town... More

My boyfriend and I went to Margate for a weekend away from the city and we were not disappointed with the hotel we chose. We had a perfect sea view from our room and the hotel is only a 15 minute walk from the main sea front with the arcades and Dreamland park. The staff were very friendly and helpful,... More

We certainly knew you were unhappy Mr Taylor, but when your wife visited us at reception 30 minutes after checking in at 8.45pm, you were offered a double and twin room for the same cost ( £105 bed and breakfast for a family suite, 4 adults). When you came to reception 30 minutes after that, you were offered a full... More

What can I say? Nothing but a BIG THANK YOU! yet again to Tony and Abbie and all their staff. Just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the hotel. Our 1920s themed party went without a hitch and all our 80 guests had a fabulous time. The function room looked lovely and had the perfect atmosphere. The venue is truly... More

Booked in for a two night stay while visiting a relative in the local area. I have now stayed at this hotel on quite a few occasions and never had a bad experience. I was given a nice room on the 2nd floor with large bay window which gave a lovely view of the promenade and sea. The weather on... More

Thanks for the review! We use as our strap line 'the only thing we overlook is the sea' so it's good to know that, on this occasion, we made you feel both welcome and relaxed, although we have to agree - that amazing view from the windows on a clear sunny morning goes a long way towards that feeling! This was my second stay at smiths court hotel and it couldn't have been more different from my first visit. The shower wasn't working so I had to bath instead and hurt my knee getting in the bath.
