We stayed here for a wedding hosted in the hotel. We found the service to be good and the food served at the wedding was excellent, both at the dining room reception and later at the evening buffet. We had a recently refurbished room that was spacious with a good bathroom/shower. The hotel is in an old building and room...

The food was tasteless, very catering pack. For starter I had pate which was served with soggy toast made of sweet french bread, obviously been prepared hours before serving. The main course was turkey, with all the trimmings, ha ha. The veg was not well drained, still floating in the water it had been cooked in, cold, and the Brussels...

Arrived Friday 19th December. The staff, friendly, and helpful. The room, number 33, was large, well presented, warm, and clean. Decor was really lovely, modern, and classy. Our friend had room number 18, also, beautifully furnished. We ate at 9 pm, the food was hot, tasty, although, portions were a tad small. Breakfast was really delicious, you could have the...

Kind staff, quality rooms, great food. Several nice restaurants and pubs around the Hotel, especially liked the Admiral Owen, and then there is also a nice bar and restaurant in the Bell itself. Will be back for sure and will be staying for longer than we did last time. Last but not least - great value.

Hotel being refurbished, and faulty lock in my room meant room change. Steak meal disappointing with tinned mushrooms. Morning paper never materialised, nor did wake up call. Staff doing check out uncommunicative and could have wished me a good day!

As said before by many reviews this is a good all round hotel in a lovely area with lots good pubs and restaurants near by, hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, I thought bar prices were a little on the high side, I would have given five stars but for the fact there is no lift in the hotel...

I was really looking forward to staying here as the hotel is in a great location overlooking the river and within walking distance of all of the main attractions in this beautiful village, and is in a great area for walks in this relatively unspoilt part of England. I only had 2 interactions with staff and both were disappointing. At...

The room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean as was the whole hotel. The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive and happy! Excellent price which covered delicious breakfast. We are in the process of booking another night in this excellent hotel.

We were excited to stay here over the weekend. Unfortunately we left the hotel feeling rather underwhelming. It's perfectly located and the hotel does have a certain charm however we thought it was tired and in need of a refurb. The breakfast was table service instead of buffet which I liked.
