As soon as you step over the threshold of the Rose & Crown you step back in time. Not only does this beautiful 16th century coaching house offer a quaint charm, but it’s staff take the time to say hi, like they used to in the good old days. Your not just another guest at the R&C, your genuinely welcomed. So a stunning building, great people and some really scrumptious grub too… Staying at the R&C is a welcome break from the faceless monotony of other chains. Give it a try if your in the area.

Would have liked to have given a better review, but bedroom let them down very shabby. Lumpy bed , poor shower really a hand held shower toilet needed attention. Room was clean friendly staff. Breakfast was good Full English £11 extra. Fabulous very accessible location if you don't mind discomfort, you need to drive round the back of the hotel to get to the car park

One of the worst experiences in a hotel ever. The rooms are incredibly poorly fitted out and in bad repair, beds are uncomfortable, walls are paper thin and the amenities as basic as they can get. It also represents appalling value for money given the price. Staff were friendly and helpful but clearly it was a skeleton crew with staff taking on multiple roles (reception / bar etc.) Please avoid and go elsewhere.

This hotel was in the perfect location for my meeting. Closed to a park which was great for a run after a long drive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good car parking at the rear of the hotel is always a bonus. Enjoyable stay.
