Stayed at this hotel for my birthday as we was visiting wheelers a lovely family run restaurant. It was lovely on the sea front and so good for the money I would recommend it. They had everything you need hairdryer towels T.V. Coffee tea and biscuits in your room the breakfast was lovely. I have uploaded a few pics staff... More

Stopped overnight at the hotel on 27th November. The Hotel is a Beautiful old building right on the sea front, we booked the superior room with balcony and sea view. Room was spotless, and really decorated well, and the same goes for the en suit. Great views of the sea from the balcony. Breakfast was fabulous, 10/10. We ate a... More

Maintenance is slack - asked for a light bulb for the bedside light that was missing early evening but it failed to materialise and couldn't get hold of anyone at reception later that night. Tip: Don't leave any mobile phone chargers in your room .... you won't get them back.

If you are in this area (as in with 20 miles), this is the place to stay. Wonderful staff, interesting rooms with rich history with a view of the ocean. Full on English breakfast. Great value in our view.

Up above the Tankerton slopes the Marine Hotel offer great sea views. All areas appear to be very clean and quite plush with quality furnishings. We have not eaten or stayed here yet, only popped in for drinks in the bar. It has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Clean and wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast choices. However, need to turn more bathrooms to classy wet rooms so that the hotel can cater for more elderly/disabled people who simply can't cope with baths. Only one disabled room which my mother liked as it was so bright and airy, but it's right above the function room!!! A golf... More

Bed was so comfortable we overslept and missed breakfast!! We didn't dine in the restaurant or bar this time as we had a meal booked at a nearby restaurant.... More

Had often looked at pictures of this hotel and thought (a) I would love to go to Whitstable one day for some oysters and (b ) that looks like a nice place to stay. Well yesterday we made it to both but we arrived at the hotel in the dark, too late to explore Whitstable unfortunately and this place seems... More

Whitstable is definitely worth visiting and this hotel is a good medium priced base. Large & well maintained, with cheerful staff & comfortable rooms - it is worth paying more for a sea view with a usable (in the Summer, at least..) balcony. The hotel is some way outside the centre of the town, but there is plenty of free... More

I think the bar menu needs a bit more care and attention. If the menu states raison and walnut bread you shouldn't serve basic white; when offering culcannon it would be better to use fresh potatoes and not previously cooked and reheated diced potato that spoils the taste of the whole dish. Disappointing.
