We have been to Whalley a few times and always intended to visit the Abbey ruins. We were quite surprised at the location, being a lot closer to the main street than expected. We drove through the fantastic gatehouse into the courtyard and parked up. Signage is lacking and so we wandered around for a while then thought we would...

We stayed here for one night. The room had twin bed. The bed was good and the bathroom clean. It’s just 2 minutes walk to the main street. The breakfast was also very good. The surroundings of the abbey are lovely.

We booked our daughter's wedding here in September and had a wonderful day. The day ran smoothy and felt very relaxed. The staff are friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. The food was very good and the ruins are stunning for photographs. The bedrooms are well equipped and comfortable. I can highly recommend this place.

We were here with 14 friends for 4 nights. A lovely hotel in an old abbey. Very friendly staff Quiet with a cafe in the abbey court yard. Comfortable lounge. The village of Whalley is two minutes away and is a prosperous lively place

We held our wedding here in October and the staff were fabulous. The food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Not to mention the stunning grounds and architecture to be the back drop for photographs. Many of our family have commented on how comfortable and relaxed it felt.

I visited Whalley Abbey today with friends. We enjoyed our visit and the grounds are great to explore and tranquil. One strange curiosity is the cafe the decor annd furnishings are quite odd and look out of place in a gothic building steeped in history. The food though is very good.

I visited here yesterday for a friends wedding & did not stay over so can not comment on the room etc but felt it was worth a review. The grounds for this venue are stunning and are a lovely place to hold a wedding reception. The food was nice & the service was very good. I would not describe the...

Buy the guide for £2 then follow the map round where the Abbey used to stand, a gigantic building for its time. It used to be a Cistercian Abbey and today it is a Grade 1 listed building. The guide gives an illustration of what it used to look like in its day. Well worth a visit.

Wow, what a magical, tranquil place to stay. Everything was excellent, from the call in advance for any dietary requirements, the warm friendly welcome, showing us around the wonderful historic rooms and to our beautiful, well-appointed and comfortable bedroom. The breakfasts were delicious and in fantastic surroundings, served by lovely cheerful, helpful staff. It is set in a fabulous position...

Whilst not much remains standing, with some help from the Guide Book, and a view of the Large Model, a picture can be formed in the brain of how things will have been. Even the parts still standing are quite breath taking, with architectural insights all around. Great place to spend a lunchtime break or picnic. And now with an...
