We stayed in the Tolkien Suite for a 2 night DBB deal. Stunning food, attentive staff and we loved the Tolkien Trail. Beautiful part of the world and a lovely traditional pub, with excellent food- we will definitely be staying again.

Stayed for one night. Good atmosphere. Good food and service. Room nice and clean with TV and brewing facilities. Only small negative. There were open fires but not lit and the eating area was a bit chilly. Overall though a pleasant stay.

I'd say not very convenient access. The bar and main dining room would be fine but the access the rooms we stayed in is up narrow and quite steep stairs.
