We visited the Hark to Bounty on Monday 14/11/16 and again on Wed 16/11/16. We dined as a couple and the atmosphere in the pub was very warm and friendly. the service was excellent and the food was excellent. The price they asked was very reasonable for such great food. It's all home cooked. It's not your a la carte... More

Mrs Mc and the kids are heading off for a week and none of us fancied cooking so we trouped off to The Bounty, a regular haunt of mine. It's been a while since I've eaten there but she had been during the week and said the menu had changed but retained lots of favourites and there was a great... More

We wanted somewhere different for a weekend break where we could walk. I came across Hark To Bounty's website and was intrigued. We arrived on the Friday to a comfortable room with old beams and after a sandwhich lunch, packed with the best ham I have tasted, we went for a walk on the Moors behind Slaidburn. On arriving back... More

After a day on the Moors behind Slaidburn we descended en-mass into the Bounty. We had earlier enjoyed a superb breakfast but tonight is "fish Friday" and we were hungry. The Pub was packed with Farmers and our extended team, Vicky and the team took our orders and the supper arrived in very generous portions. Price is very reasonable and... More

I like this place very much, especially because it's hardly changed in the 30 years I've been visiting. It's a locals pub that welcomes travellers. The rooms are basic by today's standads, but that's not why you would stay here. The village is lovely as is the countryside, the food is good (home made meat pie and a litre of... More

Slaidburn and Lytham are my two favourite corners of Lancashire. Not quite coast to coast but certainly coast to county border. I have lost count of the times in the past that I've visited Hark to the Bounty. Be it for a cycle tour break or a bar snack, the food has been extremely tasty. My favourite was always the... More

During a caravan stopover in Clitheroe, and a wet one to boot!, we took a drive during a break in the weather. The route out from Edisford bridge via whitewell and on through Newton to the pub in Slaidburn has to be among the most picturesque in the country. The direction we came from took us down a small lane... More

We booked as we were at a Wedding Reception at the Village Hall less than 200 yards down the road so an ideal location for us. Rooms were made available at lunchtime so we were able to get ready for the wedding. Lovely old building and yes it could benefit from a bit of refurb but to be honest that's... More

To start with, I wanted to stay one night in Slaidburn and I only paid £45 for single occupancy of a double room, so it was pretty good value and suited my needs. It was a Friday, which is 'fish supper' night - a choice of 7 fish dishes, all £7. The beer was excellent. And there was a good... More
