I visited this pub with family. The pub is lovely and quaint. The staff were very helpful and polite. We all ordered fish and chips. Two of the portions were ok but my fish still had raw runny batter inside and was cold. My chips were also hard. As this was a treat from a member of the family I...

Thank you for letting us know your thoughts, we need to know where we go wrong in order to correct our mistakes. Although I have no firm explanation I suspect this is what happened. All our fish portions come frozen from our supplier in Grimsby and a portion which was not yet properly defrosted was used out of sequence. This,...

My family stayed here for 2 nights whilst in the area for a funeral. Although a little dated, it is a part listed building and has a homely feel. The hotel looks very plain from the front but around the back there is a large car park, lovely garden area, garden swing and patios with seating areas. We had a...

We stayed here for our anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a better hotel. This is family run and although we did not bring ours it is dog friendly we were in room 4 at the front by the main road but the secondary glazing was so good you couldn't tell all rooms have showers I like baths better but the...

Ordered sirloin steak medium rare and received a steak the consistency of leather and the thickness of a slice of roast beef. When this was sent back, another steak was provided that was pretty much the same only slightly less cooked, thick with grease and about a third fat. When we said how unhappy we were with the quality, the...

We chose this hotel as it was dog friendly, and what a welcome we had, We were greeted at the door with a small bone treat for our dog ,we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor with outside access So we could let our dog out if we needed to , The room was very...

I can't tell you how terribly disappointed we were with the wake tea served at the half moon. For 9.50 per head it was appalling there was a selection of rolls which were mainly limp salad leaves and left over breakfast selection of bacon and sausage. There was little or no service or interaction with staff and the presentation was...

Thank you for the thoughts contained in your review. The rolls which your party received were made up of a mixture of 6 different fillings. Certainly the bacon used in some had been cooked earlier. Our breakfasts are cooked to order and nothing is 'left over'. Similarly some rolls did contain lettuce. Your party was met at the door by...

Visited with family very disappointing service which could easily be corrected. Starters quite nice 2/5 steaks extremely fatty did mention but nothing was done about them, quite expensive at £17.95 sides not arriving until half eaten main courses no wine menu no drinks menu no dessert menu waitress did her best but guess not her fault needs good management to...

Thank you for taking time to tell us your thoughts. It does tend to be difficult to fully investigate a problem when no dates or times are mentioned and a pseudonym is used. Both a sirloin and a rump steak, ours come from a local butcher, should have a thin layer of fat running along one edge. It sounds as...

I stayed here for a couple of nights in a perfectly acceptable single room. The shower was a bit fiddly, the rest of the bathroom was very cramped, but being on my own it did'nt matter if the toilet door was open! It's not bad but for what it is I think it's a bit expensive. I've stayed in a...

We booked a 3 night stay to explore Lincolnshire, having just moved here. Comfy bedroom with a super shower and staff that could not have been kinder. They all fell over themselves to make a fuss of our dog, she had a whale of a time with treats and a water bowl every evening in the bar. Excellent beer at...

Emailed proprietor to find if I could take my Dog into the bar area when I was visiting Alford. Had pleasant phone call back to let me know my dog would be very welcome. Had amazing dinner at what I consider very good price. (Two course meal for 2 with great coffee for £16 each), My dog was treated to...
