We arrived for our 2 night booking in August with our booking confirmation, to find that the house had been sold and is no longer a B and B business. I should have noticed that they had not taken the deposit when I booked in April, but it was still a shock. Luckily we were able to go to the... More

Dear Ryedalerambler, We are very perplexed by this review and sorry to hear you had this unfortunate experience. However, we did not take any bookings from anyone from March onwards as we knew we were about to exchange on the house and were busy packing up the property. When we took bookings we ALWAYS took a deposit (minimum £40 -... More

Peter and Angela were the perfect hosts. They could not have done more to make our stay stress free and memorable. They even gave us a map of local walks to assist us in getting the most out of the area.

We had a lovely stay here. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and comfortable. Lovely extra touches of home made biscuits and fresh daffodils, fresh milk in small fridge in room. We didn't have the full English option but enjoyed the other hot breakfast options (poached egg on muffin and American style pancakes) which made a nice alternative. Many... More

We had only 1 night here, but we were very impressed with our warm welcome, and the hospitality we received. We both have gluten free diets, and Angela baked a fab gf cake, bought gf bread, biscuits, sausages and cereal. This was way beyond our expectations and far more than any other establishment. The room was very attractive with a... More

Excellent accomadation, Angela and Peter are very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The room was clean and comfortable and the fridge in the room is a great idea. The wonder around the Edwardian rock garden that Angela has returned to its former glory was lovely, I would love to see it in summer when flowers will be... More

We have stayed at Heather Cottage at least 3 times and each time has been wonderful. Angela and Peter are so welcoming and their house is very comfortable. Loved the pecan cookies and mince pies! As long as they have Heather Cottage, we will stay with them when visiting the Dales.

Having spent 2 nights at the cottage i can honestly say the owners are the politest and most welcoming peopke we have met. They welcomed us into their home and introduced us to their daughter and dog. The smell of freshly baked bread every morning was great to wake upto. Will we be going back?.....definitely! !

Charming house decorated in keeping with period (1920s) Our hosts Angela and Peter could not have been more welcoming. Highlight of the breakfasts had to be the newly laid eggs courtesy of the hens in the garden but the toasted homemade bread was pretty good too. Heather Cottage is ideally located for exploring the Dales. There are a couple of... More
