Absolutely brilliant. A real home from home. We were very warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble from our hosts. Mick was brilliant and helped us sort a room to accommodate our 12 year old who was travelling with us also. The room was bright, airy, modern and very clean and comfortable. We stayed at this lovely B&B in Hunmanby for 2 nights this week.We were made welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Really good breakfast, and the place was very clean. We will definately stay here again and we would recommend it to other people.

Would definitely recommend this quaint b n b... Looks like a pub from the outside but absolutely lovely inside we stayed in the extremely spacious family room On the ground floor there was only 3 of us and we had so much space perfect for my crazy toddler to run around. The breakfast was delicious. We hope to return again...

Stayed here for a 4 day break,Mick and Sue made us very welcome room was clean and en-suite spotless.Great breakfast with a wide choice of food especialy full English breakfast to sum up ideal location for Brid Filey etc can highly recommend Southgate for a friendly atmosphere and warm welcome from Mick and Sue

My friend and I stayed one night in the Twin Room. Plenty of parking around the back. Immaculately clean with white bedding and towels. Owners were very friendly. I had a full english breakfast and my friend had the vegetarian option, both of which were delicious! Two pubs on the doorstep. Will definitely stay again and have recommended to family...

Recently stayed for one night. Owners are a lovely couple and the room we had was pristine with pure white bed linen and towels toiletries in abundance however breakfast was a let down. Cereals were basic no muesli or bran flakes which would have been nice. Full English was supplied but our eggs were solid bacon appeared to have been...

Room lovely and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Owners were very friendly and helpful . Short walk to pubs and places for evening meals. Locals very friendly. Not far from the coast. Would highly recommend and would go back again.

Just had a one night stay at the Southgate as it is well located for exploring the East Coast. It is right in the town centre with car parking facilities. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming, the room was very nice and the breakfast tasty and well presented.

We stayed at The Southgate in Hunmanby for 3 nights in June 2016. We were given a very warm welcome by Mick who gave us info about Hunmanby, good places to eat etc` Our rooms were really nice, the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was a little on the small side, but adequate for our needs. The breakfast was lovely...

Had a lovely 2 day stay .. A warm welcome by mick and sue lovely room and great breakfast. Not too far out of Scarborough for days out ..can recommend the white swan for pub food and the piebald inn both in the village. Would recommend anyone to stay here .
