Just arrived home from our three night stay at Monk Fryston Hotel. The food (and wine) was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is full of old school charm and history. The grounds are well maintained and the nearby woodland walk was an unexpected pleasure, especially as we had taken our little dog on his...

A few days stay and worth the trip even if only for the al acarte food and the bar. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade so they reflect the grandeur of the building but on the whole very pleasant stay.

Went on a Travelzoo break for one night. Our room was in need of refurbishment. The hotel itself was fairly good - the grounds were well kept and very extensive. The staff were all very helpful and had everything pitched just right. The real highlight was the food - we had dinner from the Market menu which was excellent and...

Visited this beautiful Hotel last week. It was the perfect place for a few days R & R. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the main rooms were just beautifully decorated. The main building was nearly 1000 years old, but had been very well brought up to date. Our room (No. 7) was in the main building and was excellent....

Thank you for your review, I am so pleased you had a relaxing stay. My partner, co director and style guru will be delighted that you approve of the decor. Sympathetically bringing a historic building up to date without loosing any of it's charm and character is certainly a skill.

Had my cousins wedding here and it was an amazing venue. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the venue was beautiful inside and out. They catered for my cousins wedding so well and I was really impressed. The food was also lovely and the rooms were nice and suited the style of the building. Breakfast in the morning...

We arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome at reception, Checked in and went to a very cold bedroom, central heating not working and found a electric heater had been placed in the room which would seam to tell us that they new they had a problem but didn't want to share this with us. After an hour in...

Thank you for your review, please accept my most sincere apologies that your room was below a comfortable temperature when you arrived. Nearly all our rooms are equipped with supplementary electric heaters to support our central heating system therefore finding one was not indicative of the staff having prior knowledge of an issue. Naturally as you point out 5pm on...

We stayed here for 1 night (wished it had been longer) the grounds are very nice, quiet and peaceful well worth a walk round them. Our room was 31, it was very clean and comfortable, a nice big bath to soak in. If you have been shopping in York or Leeds then this little gem is ideal, just off the...

We stayed here just one night as a present from a friend. Tea/ coffee when we arrived, dinner bed and breakfast. The place is stunning - lots of "medieval" wood, big open log fire, squashy sofas, friendly and helpful staff all in lovely grounds that were carpeted in snowdrops when we were there. The room was nice - not very...

Thank you for your review, how interesting that you were reminded of Haddon Hall when you stayed with us as the two properties have indeed strong connections. For many decades our historic building was owned by the Duke and Duchess of Rutland who also own Haddon Hall. The similarities in the two properties are striking and it is easy to...
