A chance to stay in a splendid old house full of character but with the cosiness of a friends home. Beautiful building and gardens, a warm, warm welcome and a stupendous breakfast. Perfectly placed for a wander down to the bay and lots of wildlife to meet (we saw badgers and chatted with owls on a moonlit stroll back from...

If you want a sense of history but with a bit of luxury of today. Great place to stay. Warm and friendly hosts. Not for you if you want TV and wifi. But that was some of the charm of the place. The morning bird song was delightful

This is the nicest place I've ever spent a weekend break in. It really is everything it looks. The Squires room is gorgeous with the most comfy bed and lovely private bathroom. Astounding compared to other places in the price range as it's not expensive. We took our dog with us and she was also made to feel very welcome....

Beautiful family run hotel. Brim full of character, and set in wonderful location for Robin Hoods Bay and the surrounding countryside. No TV in rooms and WiFi intermittent; perfect! Owners and staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was freshly cooked and extremely tasty. My wife and I spent our first weekend away from our three young children; this hotel proved...

We stayed in Thorpe Hall for two nights in August. Very nice and quiet, perfect for exploring the local countryside. Room was very comfortable, with hairdryer, tea etc. I think it is important to remember this is a very old house. The owners are obviously constricted by the architecture in what kind of changes they can make. If you are...

Just returned from 2 days and it has been a fab dog friendly holiday. Angelique was really friendly and helpful. The gardens are lovely and a 10 minute walk took us down to the Bay. When we booked we were advised the room was small which admittedly it was - not much room BUT the bed was comfy and the...

I chose to visit Thorpe Hall because I recently discovered that my Great, Great Grandfather had been her 'in-service' in 1841. So, obviously the history of the building, and the area is of interest to me. Staying at Thorpe Hall was a magical experience for myself and my partner, Evelyn. Angelique is a wonderful host, warm, friendly, charming, and attentive....

Just perfect, relaxed, delightful, the hall has a splendid charm with a historical warmth. Angelique is a magnificent host, warm friendly, endearing. The rooms are well portioned clean and comfortable, they are TV free (hooray) but have the luxury of wi fi. The showers are powerful with a constant heat. Our bed was huge and comfortable. There are several communal...
