OK I'm biased. My wife and I have been coming here for eight years or so and we've just returned from a two night break, in foul weather, where we were the only couple staying. We stayed DBB. The food - at whatever price - was superb. At the prices charged it represents really unbelievable value. The staff can't do...

I hardly have the words to get across how amazing a time we had - from beginning to departure - at the Punchbowl Inn. The room was modern, warm and toasty, spacious throughout, crisp sheets, comfy bed. Steaming hot baths after a walk over to Gunnerside Gill and soft white towels before tripping down for evening meal in the cozy...

Got a late booking to stay a couple of days after the busy New Year. We got a good Dinner, B&B rate staying in the annex, Room 10, as this room takes pets! The room was classed as a superior room and we weren't dissapponted! Big room and large Shower/toilet en suite. We had two evening meals and its chosen...

Visited for drinks during the day on New Year's Eve. Pub has a lovely atmosphere with cosy fire and decor. Returned on New Year's Day for an evening meal. Great menu to choose from. Food was of a very high standard and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend!

If your pre-Christmas walking weekend has to become a sitting in the pub weekend, I can't think of a much better place for it to happen! 55mph winds, driving rain and flooded roads might have curtailed attempts to walk, but they didn't dampen spirits. Excellent food, good beers and cosy rooms made for a great break. Really friendly and helpful...

We spent a lovely long weekend in the delightful Punchbowl in avert storm battered November. Food was lovely, room was great, staff very helpful and nice! Can't fault it and we'll be returning soon to tackle some more of the walks that are on the doorstep!

We had a very pleasant one night's stay at The Punch Bowl Inn in September 2015. The rooms were very comfortable and the view over the hills was breathtaking. We had dinner in the restaurant of the inn and it was excellent. We definitely will return when we are next in the area and strongly recommend a stay at the...

We were given a very friendly greeting on arrival and told that as we hadn't booked a time for dinner to just come down and they would work around us. All staff were great and you got the impression nothing would be too much trouble. The food was excellent, looked amazing and tasted even better. I had duck with spices...
