Nice tidy guest house, our room was at rear of house, decent bed, tea and coffee kettle supplied, the bathroom was a bit on small side and fine for slimmer people. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked. Tracy and staff were cheery and friendly. We visited castle where the ticked is valid for 1 yr so we will go back... More

From the start Tracy was very Helpful. I had problems with booking.com and she was very helpful. The room was at the back and big enough for us both. It was warm comfy and nicely decorated. Only minus was no draws so had to keep underwear in case. The other problem is you can hear people in other rooms which... More

We stayed here for four days, as Alnwick seemed to be a good location for exploring the area. It is very close to the castle and gardens, and the shops and restaurants. We had a warm greeting by Tracey on arrival, and she was very helpful regarding telling us about the town and amenities and sorting out my wifi. There... More

I paid £280 for four nights of hardly sleeping. The bed in our room was literally too small - both width and length ways! I don't know how else to put it- in a B&B the bed is pretty important! My feet were hanging off the end and I'm average height.. My partner was off by his calves! Plus it... More

The Castle Gate has a very central location in Alnwick and is only a short walk from the castle and opposite the theatre. Parking is at a premium - there are three narrow spaces outside the house, reached via a very steep kerb. Our twin room was quite large, though the shower room was small with a tiny wash basin,... My wife and myself stayed here as it was close to Alnwick castle. The rooms are small and basic.en suites are very small, but due to the size of the property they have done well to add these. Cupboard space would be a bonus as there was none. Mattresses really need replacing as springs were pushing through. We had room 6... More

We stayed for 4 nights - we had a room to the side of the house and were not disturbed by any Traffic. The house was modernly decorated and very clean. Excellent location for visiting Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Good base for visiting other areas - 30 minutes to Bamburgh Castle, 20 Minutes to Cragside House near Rothbury. Bonus point... More

Nice double fronted Victorian house, situated on the main road into Alnwick, very noisy traffic late into night and early morning. Would benefit from double glazing to front of property, bedroom a good size but tired decoration, no storage drawers and only small wardrobe, so we were living out of a suitcase. Bathroom small and scruffy, no shaver point, no... More

Very conveniently situated in the centre of the town and a short walk from the entrance to the castle. There was a slight mix-up with our booking on arrival. As friends travelling together, we'd booked a family room with the specification of single beds made at the time of booking but the guest house seemed to have different details and... More
