If it weren’t for the lovely staff, I wouldn’t class this hotel as little more that a one star and that’s for the staff. The breakfast is miserable, like a staff canteen. Help yourself from a dire selection of eggs, tomatoes etc from metal containers. No fruit salad, muesli, plain yogurt etc. The toasters were a joke….one side toasted not the other, put it back and it’s black. Whatever you do ,don’t order the porridge, unless you like it so rock solid it would bounce off the wall. We tried the evening meal once, than ate out the following nights. The beds are only just ok as was the bathroom. No means of charging a phone by the bed…I was lent an extension lead!! no shower cap, shampoo sachets, flannels etc. Only ear plugs…needed because it overlooks a very busy main road. Why, in such a large room, was there no fridge to keep fresh milk in. Surely the use of plastic individual milk portions should be ended. The shower pressure was hopeless when it was turned to hot…I mentioned this to the staff and somebody was supposed to deal with it…but it was no better. I can’t believe this hotel is so expensive, how it survives I can’t imagine. We have stayed in many Hotels at this sort of price and expect e good standard, which they usually are.

This establishment is commended for its helpful staff and comfortable room but for those wanting good and healthy food, forget it! Breakfasts were greasy, with no healthy cereals like muesli (they appeared to always run out!). Such establishments sadly contribute hugely to the Country's crisis problem of obesity. For those wanting a healthy food experience you would be advised to look elsewhere.

No breakfast on a Monday morning in September! Are you kidding me 😂 supposed to be served till 11. Hardly anyone in the pub. Showed to a table. Ordered, then a second member of staff told the one serving us that there were no more breakfasts. Nothing. Not even a slice of toast. UNACCEPTABLE really isn’t it. I mean toast with jam on would have been welcomed! The one dot is for the pub looking cosy on a rainy Monday.

The hotel looked in fine condition with all areas clean. The rooms are large but let down by no power sockets by the bed. As a lot of people like to charge there phones etc overnight and in my case use the phone as a clock so I know the time this was a big inconvieniencehaving the power sockets the other side of the room. the bed was not all that comfortable but not to a degree that would case a complaint. The food was excellent but the service could be quicker a nice stay let down by the lack of power sockets and slow food service. Staff were excellent

Firstly, we really couldn't fault the staff - they were all friendly, helpful and professional - a real credit to the place. BUT, the rooms are comically overpriced - way too expensive for a character-less clone right next to a dual-carriageway (the only freebie in the room is earplugs, unsurprisingly - not even a sachet of shampoo!). The restaurant was out of various menu items, and what was served was bland and much had obviously come straight from the microwave. The only plus? - definitely the excellent staff.
