We stayed here with friends just for one night in February. I emailed beforehand with a couple of queries, and received quick and friendly responses. On arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to our rooms. Amanda explained how to work the coffee machine, where everything was, and offered us home made cake - banana and walnut - delicious! Our...

What can I say. A fantastic stay with Steve and Amanda. Superb accommodation, great breakfast, helpful advice on where to go and eat. We loved it. Could not find fault with anything. Big comfy bed and cherry flapjack on tap. We will be back. John and Jane xx

We made the right choice when choosing somewhere to stay for a few days away. We headed up to Belford to go to Lindisfarne and to Bamburgh for a few days. The White cross is located in a very quiet village, very picturesque and English. We were greeted by a very friendly Steve and Amanda who showed us to our...

A wonderful welcome from Steve and Amanda, who could not of been more helpful. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated (the Red Room) with a coffee machine and delicious cherry flapjacks. Large flat screen tv which was a bonus. Lots of little touches which made it extra special. Great breakfast - good selection. I highly recommend this guest house. We will...

Market Cross Guest House Pros: Very nice accommodations Cons: None to speak of. Friendly hosts. Room was small, but comfortable. Very small en-suite, but included a good shower. Tea and coffee provided in the room, and access to free port and mead. Comfortable bed and TV available in the room. Great breakfast with lots of variety.

Perhaps the best B&B I've stayed in. Beautifully-decorated rooms; all amenities (coffee maker, teas, bottled water, home-made fudge, toiletries, iron, shoe-cleaning kit and so on); very comfortable bed. Superlative breakfast, cooked freshly to order. Wonderfully friendly owners. Great location for Bamburgh. 100% recommended.

Stayed two nights at Market Cross on a recent visit to Northumberland. The village of Belford was ideally located for our visits to Alnwick and Bamburgh. The guests house itself was of a very high standard and the attention to detail and effort to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable was evident from the start. Breakfast was a real treat...
