The Collingwood has changed hands, but the welcome is just as warm, the service is still good and the environment is spot on for a country sports break. Sixth year on the trot we've used the Collingwood as a base for our trip to Northumberland and its become a firm favourite. Don't expect 5 star service or Michelin standard food,... More

Well - this is one of those places that I always call at on my way to Scotland so I might have written about it previously - particularly as I had a new cardigan/jacket, that I stupidly left on the back of a chair in the sitting room, and didn`t realise it for a couple of hours, - too late,... My wife and I called on Saturday lunchtime as we had eaten here previously. Unfortunately the experience was not up to the last visit. The service was appallingly slow , even to get a drink. The food was acceptable but at £21.00 for a sirloin steak it should have been exceptional. The worst thing though was being seated by the... More

My husband and I stayed in the Collingwood Arms Hotel, Cornhill-on-Tweed, on the night of 6 October. We were very disappointed with both our room and dinner. Although the radiators in the room and bathroom were on, there was no heat from them, consequently we found the room cold. The hose spray in the shower was not working – only... More

Met up with friends as a Central meeting point. We had a fantastic lunch, very reasonably priced with excellent attentive service superb food in lovely relaxing surroundings. Having stayed her previously for a friends special Birthday it was lovely to return to experience the same quality. A lovely country Pub / Hotel well done to all.

We've been trying to come here for months now as we've heard such good things about the food but never been able to get a table. However, we finally managed it. Table was booked for three but when we got there the reservation was only for two. This was easily fixed but flustered the lovely young waitress who had only... More

Beautiful meal in the Bistro served by attentive staff. Pricey but very acceptable. Badly let down by a noisy public bar next door and gents toilets with dirty bowls and wash hand basins and a VERY sticky, smelly floor.

Thoroughly enjoyed our nights stay- we had a lovely room with a very nice bathroom. The food was high quality we had a fillet steak and fish and chips followed by lemon posset. The breakfast was very good especially the sausage. The hotel has a nice little bar and the barman was very obliging. Although we didn't sit in the... More

The staff were friendly and accommodating. After arriving at reception I was escorted to my room. The room was enormous a large king size bed was lost in the middle. The view for the from and side windows was fabulous looking over Northumbria. and into Scotland Dined in the bar area, excellent choice of food and beers.
