My family of 5 stayed at Coquet cottage in August this year during one of the warmest weeks all summer. The location of the cottage is amazing - we didn't need to get in the car for at least the first 4 days as there was so much exploring to do from the door. Plus the Rose and Thistle pub...

My wife and I stayed here in June 2016. After driving 8 hours (from West coast of Scotland and a property that put this to shame) we turned up to find the property hadn't been cleaned. After an hour messing about trying to get someone on the phone (no mobile reception but payphone available) a cleaning team was despatched but...

Went for my birthday weekend with our dog. First impressions were that it was set in a beautiful place and nothing but hills nearby. Brought our dog along and at home we don't have our own separate garden so for it to have that made it enjoyable for our furry fella also with no worry of loosing him because of...

If you feel like escaping to the country, this is heaven. The lodge was functional, yet had everything we needed and was well kept, however the views and location are just something else. You can enjoy lovely long walks from the cottages or pretty much everything is about 35 minutes drive, including the coast and Hadrian's Wall. Some may not...

Stayed in Pheasant Lodge. No heating in the evening. Washing machine not working. After 'repair' washing machine did not heat water so wash was cold. Tumble drier not working. No payphone. WiFi intermittent or not working. The lodge wasn't particularly clean on our arrival. The carpet was dirty and there was dog hair on the floor. Surfaces could have done...

We stayed in Pine Lodge which was a lovely size for our party of four. Decor is generally nice but could do with some bits updating. The double bed mattress was unbearably hard and I could feel the springs when sleeping. Needless to say I have come home with a bad back. The lodge itself is in walking distance of...

We have just returned from a week in Pine Lodge, and found everything totally as expected and described. The views, from the veranda made it extra worthwhile, and ease of access to the many walks. We had no internet problems, and found this constant and fast. Only one issue with the bath hot water, which we reported through Anne, and...

I stayed in Reivers lodge. It is old, I knew that before I came. It was clean and warm. I wasn't expecting 4 star from the price I paid. As a single woman staying alone in the lodge was I didn't feel very safe. The lock on the door is for an internal door in my opinion, this is a...

The accommodation required complete refurbishment. It was dirty and poorly equiped. Some of the lights didnt work, the heating was noisy and kept us awake and the matress was well past its sell by date. I have previously enjoyed a welcome pack when arriving at holiday cottages but this owner did not even leave a pint of milk. Not good when you...

We have just spent a fantastic few days at Coquet Cottage. The cottage is just lovely ................ very oldy worldy, but with really modern twists that give the best of both. The cottage is very clean and well maintained, and was much bigger than expected. Very comfortable for 6 people. The kitchen and bathroom are new and very modern, and...
