Apologies for not writing this sooner. I returned with my wife for a two night stay, having previously stayed with my son a couple of years ago, and it was a wonderful break in every sense. The owner and his father made us extremely welcome and the food was 'off the chart' good as I remembered. The room was clean...

Thankfully we had booked our table for on this chilly night it appeared that lots of people had sought refuge here. Right from our initial welcome it was evident that we would not be disappointed. The menue was very inviting but we settled for, first course off goats cheese and caralamised onions and double baked cheese soufflé. Mains of sea...

I stayed here last night with some work colleagues after spending the day at the Calvert Trust in the wind and rain. The pub is lovely, open fires, lovely atmosphere, delicious food and friendly helpful staff.. We were in the family room which was warm and comfortable. I'll definitely come back here, hopefully very soon.

Good location for Kielder Water. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, the bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water. All the staff were polite and attentive. There was a good choice at breakfast and the evening meals were really nice.

Just went for evening meal before going to Kielder Observatory, food was homely and hot all that you could ask for. Very near to the Observatory and to Kielder Water, even on the dark night the road was more than adequate.

I would definitely recommend booking if you wish to eat early as it's very popular. Unfortunately we couldn't get phone reception to call and book but managed to still get a table. The food: we both had soup of the day, an excellent spicy parsnip. Main course for me was steak and kidney pie which was very nice and the...

Many thanks for taking time to leave us a review. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your meal and your pint of Taylors, apparently it doesn't travel well but its still a great pint even in Northumberland . :)

We were looking for a short break near Kielder Forest and the Observatory. The Pheasant Inn is about the nearest place to the observatory we could find. We stayed in their self catering Garden Cottage which is really superb - it can sleep up to 4 people. It has all the modern amenities and is really nicely furnished and equipped....

We just returned from a soaking walk at Kielder to find the visitor centre opens in April. We decided to drive to home and find something on the way. From the road we seen this place was busy so gave it a try. The staff were very friendly, made a kids meal not listed and in general very helpful and...

Despite visiting in the middle of a cold, wet January Sunday we were delighted to find this lovely pub very busy, very welcoming and very warm and cosy. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and our table waitress had a wicked sense of humour! The menu was good, with a nice additional range on the specials board. Food &...
