I went here with my mum and dad for our annual Mother's Day lunch and will now be making it a staple Sunday roast spot. The waiting staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The starters were simple but delicious and for £5 each you could not complain at all. I suggest getting...

Wonderful experience, a room the size of my flat and such great service. The pub is a great real ale drinking hole, a fantastic menu and sports, all the things I like. the menu leans towards the roots of the American landlady with many gorgeous BBQ items on it, I recommend the pulled pork. As a guest house the room...

Love it. A proper pub with a good selection of drinks and a proper pub atmosphere. Is now my local for a while, which is great. Food is well prepared and very tasty and some interesting snacks as well. Quiz nights etc. Good fun and a great place to meet a few mates

The description and photographs are an accurate reflection of the public areas. Positioned on a main road and only a short walk to the town centre. I agree wholeheartedly with the reviews regarding the menu, excellent service, cooked to order and reasonably priced. However, if you are reading the reviews with the intension of booking accomodation read the reviews carefully....

Thanks for the feedback. For anyone looking through the reviews please note the following with regard to this review: - those are complimentary toiletries for guest use and appreciated by many of our repeat customers - communal coffee/tea and complimentary breakfast area just aside the bedroom door also seems to work well for majority of guests - sealed, individual portions...

The pub looks a bit grim from the outside but inside it is warm and welcoming with a big blazing log fire which throws out a lot of heat. Friendly staff. It stocks a good range off beers and a pint of Abingdon Bridge from the very local Loose Cannon brewery went down a treat. A wide range of food...

Don't be put off by the outside of this pub! Inside it's a gem. Great beer and cider- lovely atmosphere. Didn't try food but bet it wouldn't disappoint. Lived in Abingdon 2 years and only just discovered it- will definitely be back :-)

Great to be introduced to this great little pub. Good selection of beers and ales. Happy, helpful staff and a chef who knows how to cook. If you aspire to running a pub then this is one of those places you go to take notes. Well done Team Tap...

We had booked a superior room for £110 for the night. We had a couple of (very good) pints in the bar. Nice pub, friendly staff, blazing log fire etc. Initial impression of the room was positive - big, nicely decorated with a smart bathroom. There are plenty of steep stairs, which would not suit everyone. The room is right...

Been coming here fairly regularly for Sunday lunch for the last 2 years and have NEVER been disappointed (although we have been when circumstances have meant eating elsewhere) - end of !!! Not so keen on the evening menu but for Sunday lunch CANNOT be beaten

The rooms are gorgeous, not suitable for those with problems climbing stairs as the staircase to the rooms are quite tight and steep. Within our room were steps up and down to the bathroom and bedroom. Our room was huge, with a large lounge area. The continental breakfast was ample and easy to access for a breakfast in bed style...
