We went here today meeting friends for Christmas lunch. The quality of the food and the service were second to none and I cannot recommend this place enough. Three courses for £16 followed by coffee and mince pies. No rush to leave our table. Very relaxing. Just the right amount of Christmas atmosphere with lovely friendly staff. Even the Manager...

Stayed here on a Groupon deal for 2 nights half board. The hotel is well placed to explore Thame and Oxford. Garden room was comfortable, quiet, warm and clean with a few niggling irritations. The key struggled to open the door. We told reception, by the time we had returned that evening the lock had been changed. Excellent service. We...

A well appointed, quaint, very old hotel in this small village. Our garden room was warm and clean and the beds comfy. A door opens on to a garden which would probably be a great place to hang out when the weather permits. The staff were friendly and efficient. The shower worked well and the towels were lovely. The wardrobe...

Old, creaky hotel but warm and clean. Grumpy but efficient receptionist when checking in. Delicious well presented dishes from the restaurant and the staff were friendly and cheerful. Lots of choice for breakfast and everything tasted fresh. Will stay at this hotel again.

Bought a deal with Groupon for 2 nights with 1 night dinner included. Room was ok , clean and everything you would need for a couple of nights stay. Room was quite stuffy and could not open the window. Comfortable beds. It's a very old building so it's very creaky and draughty. The breakfast was mediocre and I thought it...

The spread eagle is a little dated but one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. We booked on groupon for dinner bed and breakfast, the food in the restaurant is much better than I expected and the full English was first class all be a little slow on service.

ABSOLUTELY APAULLED. I booked 4 bedrooms on their website for my fiancé and family on the evening before our wedding. This was confirmed by email and guaranteed with my debit card details. 3 days later, I received a call from somebody at the hotel asking me to confirm the details of my booking as it looked to them like a...

Booked to stay for 2 nights at the weekend. Arrived and found the reception and bar area to be lovely and cosy. This feeling didn't last long - we entered our room to find it hadn't been updated or even had a lick of paint in decades... Disappointed to say the least as the pictures on line show a different...

We had an afternoon tea event at the Spread Eagle and couldn't be happier. The staff were really accommodating of our various dietary requirements and helped make it a special day! Would happily back for another family event.
