Simon greeted us with a warm and friendly smile. The bar was great with a roaring fire and great local beers. We eat in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food and choice was excellent. The only disappointment was in our room, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, but the room wasn't as clean as it...

Two things stand out when reviewing the Crown, the quality of the food provided by their team of 3 chefs and the helpfull and fiendly staff. The main building is a 16th century coaching inn so it should be no surprise that the floors are uneven and do creak a lot. The room we had was a bit dated and...

We recently stayed at the Crown using an online voucher scheme that gave us two nights B&B plus a three course dinner on our first night. On arrival the staff could not have been more helpful and that continued for the whole of our stay, they were superb. Our room was small and tired and still had a 14" big...

The Crown is an old country inn. It has a lovely atmosphere and is very clean and comfortable. The bedroom we had (21) was in an outside building near to the main building. The bedroom could have done with being updated but it was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff were friendly and very helpful especially George. The...

Stayed at The Crown Inn for 2 nights on a wowcher deal. We stayed on the top floor in the old part of the building in room 10. The room was clean and cosy and of good size. Luckily for us, we weren't too tall as low beams and eaves. Our window was tiny with absolutely no view (view of...

Had a great time the hotel is of very high standard think we got the best room in the hotel the rooms look like houses from outside and are separated in to individual rooms. The one we had was (Number 23) downstairs with a back door that go’s straight on to the duck pond with a river and wee water...

This place clearly invests in it's staff, they are happy helpful and honest. The food is tasty and you'll certainly no go hungry here. The ales are amazingly well kept...though I didn't see a Cask Mark sign so if they don't have one they deserve one. The rooms are clean and the bed comfortable, they do however look tired and...

Agree with ColinC in nearly every detail.(who must have visited a short while before we did.) Food plentiful and with large portions, but also of very good quality cooked by an excellent chef and served by very pleasant people....as is Simon too, the manager. When I return, (I was born in Shifnal, not too for from there, hence my affinity...

Returning from a morning out in Ludlow, we decided to go home Via Kidderminster and Bewdley. Having stopped at The Crown lots of times for a drink in the summer, we decided we would have lunch there. It is a lovely old pub and hotel full of character, oak beams, high ceilings and wobbly furniture. We decided to have the...

Don't know how the hotel can justify charging me £25 extra to have a twin bedded room this week. Stayed many times before at standard rate. Very disappointed. Generally good value for prices charged apart from above charge. Has anyone else experienced this?
