The Stokesay Inn was a convenient place to stay because all the other accommodation in the area was booked out. It is just a pub with some bedrooms above. The rooms are pretty basic and the pub is much the same. This is not a characterful English country pub but it was a room and a bed for the night....

All the staff/owners we met were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived fairly early in the afternoon our room felt chilly, but a word to the manager and the heating came on 10 minutes later. Admittedly it did go off during the evening, but when we mentioned it, an electric heater arrived rapidly. We had chosen the larger room,...

From the minute we stepped into the bar we were greater by the friendly manager. Who checked us in , served us drinks & asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner later as Saturdays got busy. Comfy room, quite basic but clean above the bar. The bar closed early so wasn't kept awake by noise. We ate...

Mum 75 and I stayed here for a visit to the food festival. Staff charming. Both of our waitresses were young but absolutely charming. The owner was very welcoming. Room was very quiet and more than adequate for our needs. Food is served in big proportions. We had dinner which was great, but we were glad we didn't order starters....

We only had one night in Stokesay Inn but it could not have been better. The room was big and airy, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was fine, with the best shower control system I have ever experienced. The bar of the inn was traditional (which I like) but the dining section had been updated. The owner and his...

Great food, good choice for evening meal in restaurant area. Good breakfast. Excellent service from all the staff, and manager. Comfortable rooms. WIFI only really works in bar/restaurant area. We would certainly stop here again when next we go to the Shrewsbury flower show. Nice National Trust properties in the area.

Bedrooms are fairly plain and unexceptional but clean and of a reasonable size with ensuite facilities. Breakfast is excellent but at additional cost. Great value for money overall. We received a warm, friendly welcome when we arrived and received excellent service at the bar and on food orders. Evening meal that we ordered was delicious. Free wifi worked well in...

I passed through Craven Arms during a Charity cycle and was welcomed warmly. I was shown to a clean bedroom and enjoyed a lovely shower after a long day cycling. Sadly I missed dinner but there is a great choice of takeaways within a minutes walk. I enjoyed a pint with the locals who kindly donated money to my charity...
