We just popped in on a very cold Sunday without booking to be greeted by a lovely toasty log fire and a warm welcome. We loved our food - I had two courses for £13.95. The pate was superb and beautifully presented and the turkey roast was delicious, tender meat, lashings of gravy, lovely stuffing and roast potatoes, crisp veg....

Lunch with friends, personally found it hard to find something that I fancied on the menu, I only wanted a snack so I went for a toasted sandwich, presentation was excellent, however, the toast was overdone, the filling was sparing, the vegetable crisps were soft and stale and the salad had wilted possibly a few hours before! My friends meals...

Went for the 3 course lunch special at £9.99 - all the courses were very small in portion size. Main course Ludlow faggot was of a good flavour - pity there was only the one. Service was ok - nothing really outstanding for me to want to return to this establishment.

Sorry there was only 1 faggot (which are huge and most people can't finish) on your 3 COURSES FOR £9.99. We make very little profit from our very generous 3 COURSES FOR £9.99 and when all said and done, we are a business not charity. You would have been welcome to double up your portions if you felt they were...

4 people had a range of great food. The local faggots were excellent and the sea bass an adventurous and successful dish. The lasagne was perfect and our vegetarian friend had the best beetroot and Brie quiche she had ever tasted. We were too full for puds after substantial mains and starters.

Really enjoyed the Sunday lunch, great value at £16.95 for three courses and the portions were massive! Were able to accommodate gluten free without any problems. Service was a bit slow but it was very busy so that's understandable. One of our party ordered the soup which arrived cold but this was fixed quickly which is all you can ask.

Food was excellent but our room was dreadful. 16th century building ... and so was the plumbing ! Without doubt the worst room we have stayed in sadly. There was thick dust behind the headboard/skirting. The floor creaked dreadfully and the room was not as clean as it should have been.

Thank you for your review. The housekeeper has been sacked, my other half had his arms in **** all day on Sunday thanks to your abuse of our dated plumbing and we managed to get the red wine stain out of our brand new carpet! Cheers.
