We booked to stay here for three nights in April and we were not disappointed. It certainly is a little gem and the location is stunning. We stayed in the 'Blue room' overlooking the garden and whilst the en-suite was not one of the largest it certainly was well fitted and very clean. There was plenty of space for our...

Pen Y Dyffryn is a good hotel, let me make that clear right away.Last time we stayed I gave it a 5 star rating.but cannot this time. The best room is the Champagne room, although you do get some noise from the kitchens as they prep food ,and also the door to the upper courtyard rooms is noisy. I cannot comment on...

After reading the previous reviews of this hotel we decided to book for a two night stay. We were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a beautiful area with stunning views across the valley and has ample outdoor seating from which to enjoy the view. Onarrival as part of the package we were served a little afternoon tea, which was...

we stayed here for one night and liked it so much that we have booked to go back for a longer break. The room was spotless with fabulous views, comfortable beds and piping hot water. The staff were delightful and extremely helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious We can't wait for our next stay.

Where do I start? My husband and I have just returned from a four day break with old friends - a party of fourteen. The hotel and staff are so welcoming and can not do enough to help you. On arrival we were given tea and scones which was just what we wanted after a long and difficult journey. Each...

This hotel is delightful and is a destination in itself, despite being situated in the most stunning scenery on the Welsh Borders. It has luxury with a relaxed atmosphere and being very dog friendly was a bonus. We were greeted by very friendly staff with good knowledge of the area and our stay just got better and better. The rooms...

Thanks for your nice comments, in particular about the food. Trouble with Michelin stars is managing expectations, and we prefer to match or exceed them, rather then the opposite. Hope to see you again soon! Regards Miles

We have been visiting Pen y Dyffryn for dinner for many years and always had an excellent meal. We had promised ourselves to stay overnight sometime, and take our dog with us, despite living within 10 miles of the hotel. At last we made it last weekend to celebrate our recent anniversary. The quality of the meal was as we...

A perfect hotel for a quiet getaway: great location especially for walkers, comfortable and well decorated rooms, delicious and varied menu, warm log fires, friendly, helpful and very efficient staff. Enormous attention has been paid to details-recommendations for daily activities, reliable walk descriptions, borrowable maps, free and working wifi and so forth. My only reservation would be about the piped...

Glad you liked the local walks. We're lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world and to share it with our guests. We get comments both ways about playing discreet background music - some like it, some don't. So we only play it during dinner, and very quietly - and we turn it off someone asks us...
